Traffic fears at M6 store

Wednesday 28th October 2009, 12:50PM GMT.

Traffic heading to a huge sale in the Black Country will be monitored by police tomorrow to avoid a repeat of rush-hour delays on the M6.

PC World is holding a four-day sale at its newly renovated store close to Junction 9 at Wednesbury from 6am.

Last year the M6 was brought to a standstill when the nearby Currys store slashed prices.

A seven strong team of police officers will be patrolling tomorrow to keep traffic moving.

Inspector Akeel Najib of Wednesbury Police said: “I have spoken to the store and the area manager from PC World about the issue.

“We will be providing a sergeant and six officers officers to patrol the area and monitor traffic. The firm has assured us they will be putting on extra security staff in and out of store.”

A total of 3,000 flocked to Currys on the Gallagher Retail Park last October.

The authorities convince these companies to set up next to one of the busiest stretches of road in the country then moan at them for having big sales. Rather than getting police to keep the traffic moving for this why don’t they do something about the traffic in general. Removing the toll on the toll road for a start. Its no mystery why companies are put off by the Midlands they cant get stock in and out because of the traffic and the government don’t do anything about it. They only care about their precious M25 and the traffic in London.

Just shop around on the internet, there’s loads of better deals out there online.I bought a better laptop for cheaper from a rival store cheaper than on their promotional sale flyer that came through the door.In my experience its only to lure u in-when u get there the items have suddenly all sold out but more expensive ones are plenty!
