At least it’s a sign that the player is progressing. I’ve heard some excellent reports this season, and that can only be good news for the team. If the WBA keeper “Frank” Carson can get a game for England, I think it shows that the door is open to everyone.

yet again a “meaningless” sensational headline and everyone knee jerks – if you read the “comment” carefully you can make a reasonable assumption that during the course of an interview Kightly has been asked “when Karl Henry played at Stoke he got into the England under 21′s, do you think he could play at full level?” and then they have selected his article and decided that because Kightly said “I think he could…” translates to Henry tipped for England. A bit of a leap and what did they expect Kights to say? “No he’s not good enough” which would probably provoke a “Kightly slams not good enough tema mate” headline.

Henry has shown he can do a job at Premiership level and been consistant.

He is s different type of player to Gerrard & Lampard in that he is more of a defensive midfield player and could give England a different option.

Look yes he had a good game against villa but it stood out because usually he is average at best. For the likes of the truly top class players you only here about their bad performances because its a given they usually play well but its the opposite for henry because really he is a good championship player who is overachieving. I think his position is the most influencial and the quality of the midfielder reflects the quality of the team. i.e Keane, Vieira, dunga, deschamps etc all key in great teams. we are 17 after probably the easiest start we could have asked for. enough said

As I said, I love Karl Henry and think he has done extremely well, but come on “England Class” hardly. He has to do this for a sustained period of time to prove that. He hasn’t proved he is a prem player at the moment let alone international quality!

Henry is a committed player and one that is still learning. To suggest that he is in the mind of Capello is probably a little far of the mark, but if he continues to improve as he has done since he has been at Wolves he may well satnd a chance in the fture. He could actually be the new Butch Wilkins who also mostly played the ball sideways and backwards!

Germany’s top player is second fiddle to Fat Frank, Italy are without doubt the worst side ever to win a world cup, Kuyt is a main stay in the dutch side for God sake! Brazil have only two World Class players! Hargreaves when fit would walk into most sides, having attended every game at the finals in Germany he was without a doubt our top player there. Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand (although he is out of form) Terry, Ashley Cole, Rooney these players would make any international side, not to mention the likes of Barry, Walcott, Joe Cole, Hargreaves who would make any squad.
