Five schools in the Wyre Forest district will be redeveloped as part of a £150 million pound plan outlined in a new report to education chiefs.

It gives details of proposals to partly demolish and to upgrade the Bewdley High School and Sixth Form Centre.

It also outlines the intention to rebuilt or modernise Baxter Coll-ege, King Charles I School and Sixth Form Centre in Kidderminster, Wolverley CofE Secondary School and Stourport High School and Sixth Form Centre.

The latest report due to be discussed by Worcestershire County Council’s development control committee concentrates on plans for Bewdley High School.

It highlights proposals to work with planning consultants Entec UK Ltd to demolish three teaching blocks on the nothern part of the.

Sixth Form buildings will be remodelled along with the school’s Visual Arts and Design Technology building.

The school’s sports centre will be refurbished under the plans and the music block will get a two-storey extension .

Four tennis courts will be created and the multi-use games area will be moved to give space for four additional grass sports pitches.

The report is due to be considered in the next few weeks.
