A minute’s applause was being held today ahead of the clash between Wolves and Aston Villa in memory of former player Paul Birch.

The midfielder, who died earlier this year at the age of 46 after a battle with cancer, played for both teams during his career.
Fans from both clubs were bringing a wreath on to the pitch.
