Rangers duo doubts for cup replay

Monday 28th September 2009, 8:30AM BST.

RANGERS VB 14 01Stafford Rangers defender Emmanuel Udoji is out of the FA Cup replay against Coventry Spinhx – and striker Ben Mills is also a doubt.

The centre-half, making only his second appearance for the club, was carried off after just 38 minutes of Saturday’s 2-2 draw in the second qualifying draw and manager Chris Brindley has confirmed he will miss tomorrow night’s Marston Road match.

Mills twisted his ankle but managed to play on, however the injury remains and the forward will now be assessed ahead of the game.

Brindley is happy to still be in the competition after watching his side go 2-0 down to 10-man Spinhx, before a Tom Thorley penalty kick and an own goal from Jamie McAteer salvaged a draw for the Blue Square Premier club against their Midland Alliance hosts.

Rangers could have done without a replay, especially with a league game at home to Hinckley on Saturday, but the manager has told his side to “get on with it.”

He said: “The injuries are continuing to come thick and fast. Emmanuel was obviously carried off and he won’t play tomorrow, whether he will back on Saturday I don’t know either. Ben has twisted his ankle as well, so he might struggle.

“With another game in quick succession we could have done without this, but we have just got to get on it.”
