Pompey a pressure game for Mick

Monday 28th September 2009, 11:00AM BST.

BRITAIN - Mick McCarthyFrustrated Wolves boss Mick McCarthy already believes Saturday’s clash with rock-bottom Portsmouth is now a “pressure game” in the Premier League survival battle.

The manager also insisted referee Lee Mason got two major decisions wrong in yesterday’s 5-2 defeat at Sunderland, a result which heavily flattered the hosts.

Now Pompey come to Molineux this Saturday without a point this season after losing 1-0 to Everton on Saturday and McCarthy believes it’s a vital clash in the survival rivals’ ‘mini-league.’

He said: “Portsmouth at home was always going to be a pressure game. They haven’t won for seven games – I wish they had!

“If we’d have won yesterday would it have lessened the pressure for the Portsmouth game? No chance.

“They played well against Everton. But I won’t be losing any sleep this week though.”

McCarthy was speaking after Mason awarded Sunderland their first penalty, when Segundo Castillo got a foot to the ball in his challenge on Darren Bent.

And the manager was equally annoyed when the man in black waved ‘play on’ when Kevin Doyle was sent sprawling by Michael Turner in an aerial challenge, with the score at 1-0 to the hosts.

He said: “I thought the first penalty was harsh. Castillo got his foot on the ball and their man fell over. I don’t think the referee had a great view of it.

“He saw him fall over and thought it was a penalty. That wasn’t fair on us.

“The second one was a ‘stone-waller’. I think we should have had a penalty. I don’t know when barging someone in the back is not a penalty.

“If it had gone to 1-1, I might have fancied us because we’d had most of the game at that point.”

McCarthy was pleased with Michael Kightly, who came on at half-time for an enterprising 45 minutes, and strikers And Keogh and Kevin Doyle, who scored for the second successive game.

The manager added: “It was another positive change which enabled us to go 4-4-2 with two wingers. Doyle and Keogh were terrific. Our strikers were different class.”

At 2-2 if there was any justice in the world it would have 2-0 to Wolves, but when they scored the 3 in open play, you can’t complain. Anyway you look at it or justify rubbish decisions by the ref, we lost, but…

I thought the fans were fantastic, the players never gave up and Mick has taken it for what it was; a bad loss but nothing we can’t come back from.

Saw the game and was proud as ever to be a Wolves fan. Would have brought Foley on at 2-2 as it was clear thay would have to throw themselves at us having lost a two goal lead. We just have to keep playing like this and over the season we will be mid-table. A horrible time to play Portsmouth, law of averages says they must take something away and I saw the Everton game and they were thee better side. Doyle and Keough are a must, the others looked slow and average when they came on, Kites and Foley from the off on Saturday.

Keogh is playing brilliant at the moment, long may it continue. Doyle is our best player, he has real class about him! I though Karl Henry was magnificent yesterday, a true leaders performance and Berra is also proving to be quality.

It was 12 against 10 for most of the game, they had the ref and we had the “brilliant” Andy Keogh. We have to play strikers who look able to score but he’ll keep his place. We played very well in phases of game yesterday and but for a few bad refereeing decisions could have ended differently. Saying that though, we are still weak at the back. Foley (if fit) should have come in a full back and although he gives everything I think Elokobi is gonna get found out big time this season. Why i we still adopting an old strategy of not having men on the posts for set plays – Sunderland had one and saved a goal from Berra – we didn’t and allowed Turner to score. On a positive note it’s good to see Hennessey more in command in the whole of the box now ( and even outside it!)
We need to keep a grip in midfield – 2 wingers is not really an option and especially as Jarvis has been very poor so far.

    I can’t believe yesterday….

The score line did flatter them, but we still LOST… When will Mick realise that for all the play we are having, by not having your best striker on the field (Sylvan) we are not going to take the chances we do create… I agree Keogh has been good so far, but he is NOT going to score the 10 goals we need from both our front 2 to stay up…

The defence is still the main problem, the difference between us and sunderland was the fact they put their chances away… SIMPLES!!!

I’d have to say I think I’d have given their first one, it was a clumsy challenge and the ball seemed to be contacted more with a second effort once Bent was already going over.

Ours – Doyle was clearly fouled and the ref was in a great position to see it.

Doyle and Keogh were really good for much of the game. I still feel SEB and Kightly look very rusty.

Our defenders were also a different class – remedial.

Hopefully experience will come quickly as I still feel we look better with Craddock even with his lack of pace.

Castillo should have stayed on too, I think Kightly is also lacking fitness and belief and needs to play wider on the right than he has done over the last couple of games.

Number 5 – The back four that you list in your team for the portsmouth game is appalling! None of them are match fit and only one of them (foley) is anything like good enough for the premiership. If our back four on sunday conceded 5 against two quality strikers, your back four would concede about 10 against two average ones! At the moment we are playing defenders that are the pick of a pretty bad bunch. We should have recruited better defensively over the summer but we didn’t so, for the time being, sundays back four is about the best we’ve got, with the addition of foley once fully fit.

Harsh on the lads yesterday but the defending was shabby at times.

In fairness to them though the ref was awful and it could have been a different game.

The biggest decision he got wrong was allowing Gordon to stay on the park.

I apologise If there’s a loophole, but I’m not aware of any.

The laws state that if a player deliberately uses foul play to stop a goal-scoring opportunity he should recieve a red card.

This is exactly what Gordon did! In reality he cheated to stop the ball going in the net. The fact he’s a GK and it was a dodgy backpass shouldn’t have mattered.

2-2 with ten men for 40 minutes would have put an entirely different slant on the game!

I was sat in the Sunderland end with a couple of mates who are SAFC season-ticket holders, and they both agreed that Wolves were overall the better side throughout the game. The difference in this league can often be having class up-front, and in Jones and Bent they have two genuine quality Premier League strikers. Considering how much money they have to spend, I think we did extremely well to not only match them, but outplay them during a lot of the game. Okay, letting in 5 is a disappointment but how anyone can say our players do not deserve credit for yesterday’s performance is beyond me. Overall, I am extremely proud to be a Wolves fan and hope we can carry the performance over to Saturday which is going to be far from easy, if anyone thinks that 3 points are in the bag because of Pompey’s league position then think again… the game has a draw written all over it!

And a special mention to the amoeba who suggested getting Sol Campbell in – do you really think anyone is going to take you seriously when you come out with statements like that? Campbell is a wrong ‘un and no mistake, I think you need to jog on back to school my friend.

As ever there are some perplexing views here.

Firstly Keogh was awful again. Whenever he gets the ball his decision making is non existent and takes so long thatt he chance is usually gone. Time to see that he simply does not have enough in his locker.

Elokobi may be a big strong lad, but will never succeed at this level.

However, I think we have found something with Castillo. Looks solid and could prove a very useful acquisition. Hope his hamstring doesn’t mean him missing too many games.

Doyle looks good and lively. A bit of extra shooting practice in training and he may really shine.

Hennessey – almost faultless so far this season. Top drawer keeper.

Overall it is stilla positive start to the season and we should remain optimisitc.

I am loath to criticise a manager that has turned this club round completely in the space of three years – but what is going on with Zubar? We clearly have a defensive problem and the guy we spent a few million quid on in the summer to play in that position cannot even get in the “reserve” team for the Carling Cup.

I’ve got to pull up a few inaccuracies on here.

Whats the point in playing a whole new defense line against Portsmouth on Saturday? They would ship more goals than we did yesterday. Berra has been brilliant the last couple of games. He was at fault for the penalty, but he wasn’t the one who was man marking Turner, that was Henry. For the one mistake he made I can recall at least another dozen times when he kept Sunderland at bay.

As already stated Castillo had a knock. Jarvis is a typical winger, can do nothing in the game for 89 minutes but one minute of brilliance can change the game. That’s what wingers do.

And Keogh for me has been our most consistent player so far this season. He has put a shift in every game and has started to show a few touches that warrants his name on the starting line up. Him and Doyle look good together.

I only saw the first half and listened to the second on the radio.
    a) Ref was hopeless and biased towards the home team.
    b) We had a lot of possession but no end product.
    c) Strikers are there to score goals. I am still not convinced Keogh and Doyle will score enough. Not sure if they are our best combination.
    d) Mancienne is quick but not strong enough to compete with big forwards like Kenwyn Jones and Bent. He would be better used as a full back.
e)Castillo looked very strong and compact in midfield. I believe he was injured and that is why he was replaced. If not then taking him off was a mistake!
f)Jarvis not good enough at this level.
    g) what is the point of spending over 5 million and not using these players. Surely the idea is to improve on the squad not merely supplement it with some bench warmers.

could have been a different game had the referee not made two dodgy mistakes at the start. the 1 thing that worries me is that we played brilliantly untill we got level and then let them play. We cant afford to do that in any league.

Also, why on earth during corners and free kicks does hennessey not put 2 players on the line. We got punnished from a corner for that decision. Sunderland were saved during 1 of our corners for putting 2 players on the line. I guarentee that having two players on the line would help us concede allot less goals from set pieces. Other than that, im still confident that we can compete as the score line flatterd sunderland, the likes of kightly and blake will come good when theyre fit.

    49. Yes he was at fault for the penalty, and for the Turner goal but how many other big-name players have done the same (Turner was one of the top defensive goalscorers last year). He may have shown some inconsistency but do we have a better option? I don’t believe we do and if he performs like he did against Fulham in 50% of the games we wont lose as many bad goals as we have done over the years through centre half mistakes.

For the Michael Turner goal, u cant just blame Berra. Where were the defenders on the posts????????????? First thing u learn when u defend a corner u make sure u have defenders covering those posts!!!!!! so really the one to blame there is the coaches and the defenders. What the team need to do all week and every week until its sorted out is to practice defending hour in and hour out. Do the club actually have a defensive coach because terry Connor was a striker so what does he know about defending. If I was Mick McCarthy i would have the whole of the defence training on their own to sort the problems out !!!

Couldn’t help but be proud of the performance yesterday. On another day we could easily have come away with a point or even 3. We seemed to dominate possession and play some really good football which was very positive, especially away from home. Converting the chances or half chances is the issue and what was the difference in the end. At that level the quality of strike force was the difference. They pretty much scored with each opportunity in the second half.

Some real positive performances though. Thought Henry, Doyle, Edwards and Keogh were excellent and Castillo very assured in the first half. Thought both full backs did ok and Mancienne made up for his lack of height with ability on the floor.

Was very disappointed with Berra who was outfoxed twice in conceding a penalty and in allowing Jones a shot for his 3rd goal and then lost Turner for the 4th. Finding that consistent and quality performer to play alongside Mancienne is the biggest concern for me.

Jarvis seems to be struggling at this level too and appears to lack the confidence to run at the defenders. You could see Mick on the sidelines shouting at him to run at the right full back but he didn’t seem to do this.

Good to see Seb back, although not sure about the Hof. He didn’t seem to win a single header up front despite being the tallest player on the pitch.

Lets hope we get a bit more look on Saturday.

It is good to know that the Castillo change was down to injury and not tactics. But I think it is plain for all to see, that it is suicidal for us to play four four two away from home, with two wingers and an attacking midfielder. Hopefully Mick has learn’t from this and also the need to put people on the posts at corners. We played some good football and the spirit in the team seems very high, this was demonstated perfectly by Keogh’s run just before he was subsituted,he was on his last legs but still went passed two Sunderland players.

Which ever way you look at it the defence is just not good enough for the premiership,as i have stated previously under Micks tenure Sunderland conceded 105 goals in their relegation season. He has not learned from his mistakes. The stubborn attitude of playing his favourites or those who put a shift in has to change, players need to be selected on ability not workrate.Big George is out of his depth,Why wont he play Zubar after spending 2.5 mill on him?Good performances like yesterday are no substitute for points on the board.Mick needs to find his best starting 11 now and look to move away from the bottom ASAP.

Secondly i know Seb has not had many games so far, but he just doesn’t look up for it at this level. Doyle is playing well – great control and movement with the ball – and will score some goals, but i can’t see how Keough fits in – great workrate and playing better than last season BUT he’s just not a goalscorer and thats the difference – we need our strikers on the pitch to be able to score.

I’m a little shellshocked by the result cause with 20 minutes left it looked like we’d be pressing for the win and get at least a draw.
That was ultimately our downfall cause we switched off at the back assuming Sunderland were a beaten side & no longer a threat.

We need to bring Craddock back so there’s at least one responsible adult at the back.

…and someone please please please teach the Hoff how to jump, and as for Elokobi. Well anyone remember Peter Kay in the John Smith ads…”Av it!” George…Thats you that is.

Let’s stop the whinging and get behind the team, we are not far off – just one or two tweaks and all will be ok.

Bear in mind the injuries and lack of fitness and we will be sound.

My only concern is the insistance on playing Halford and Jarvis who are mediocre and not good enough for the Prem.

I would play Hennessey in goal, Foley has to come in for Halford. Mancienne and Berra are always going to be the first choice centre halves and Elokobi is the best left back at the club (those who went to Man City will recall how ineffective SWP was in 2nd half).

I would play Keogh on the left and Kites on the right but give them both licence to roam wherever.

Castillo (who only came off to prevent injury) and henry are in pole position for centre mid – I personally am not a big Henry fan as he passes the ball sideways and backwards far too much but I think he just shades Edwards because of his defensive mind.

    SEB and Doyle up front.

So lets all get behind the boys and drown out the bells on Saturday !!!

For those who question Zubar – i’m sure he will come into the equation soon – my only query was why he didnt play in the Man Utd game which was supposed to help fringe players !!!

I’m with Kightly… I’ll take more of the same from Wolves as in the Sunderland match.

Yesterday’s result flattered Sunderland no end and, while disappointed at the outcome, I was thoroughly proud of the way that our players performed.

I was pleased to see Kightly and Ebanks-Blake on the pitch, Doyle is starting to come into form, Keogh never stopped working and impressed and I thought Hennessey and Berra did very well.

Sunderland’s goals – two were penalty gifts from the Baggies fan of a referee (who incidentally probably annoyed both sets of fans in equal measure – he was hopeless); one came from an amazing shot, and two were scrappy.

So, lady luck didn’t smile on us much. I still thought we played pretty damn well and I think on another day, we could have come away with the points from the exact same game.

I hope there are no down-hearts in the dressing room. Our lads had nothing to be downbeat about on Sunday. Even the Sky Sports lot were complimentary rather than patronising.

Come on the lads. Three Wolves players – Dennis Wilshaw, Peter Broadbent and Colin Booth – have scored hat-tricks against Portsmouth. We’re overdue another…

We are losing matches because the defence is conceding goals, but surely it’s our playing system and the forwards that are contributing to that! Let me explain; we are supposed to be playing 4-4-2, which should mean four midfielders and two forwards. We’re creating enough chances every game, but we’ve only one forward in any one game who’s capable of scoring a goal. That situation will persist as long as Keogh continues to be played as a forward! In that position he’s denying a place to two or three proven goalscoring forwards, such as Ebanks-Blake, Maierhoffer or Vokes. It doesn’t matter that Keogh “puts in a good shift” or runs 50 miles in a game, he’s not a goalscoring forward! He’s a midfielder! Incidentally, during the week I saw Trappattoni’s squad for the Republic’s next game, and in which group do you think he placed Keogh? No, not with the forwards, but with the midfielders! If Trappattoni can see that, why can’t we? Keogh, no doubts, is playing well, but he should be fighting for a place in midfield against the likes of Henry, Castillo, Milijas, Edwards and Jones. Until we start a game with two goalscoring forwards, our defence is going to creak!!!

There are lots of positives about team performances so far (apart from Blackburn) but unless we have a platform in the match we won’t get the results. Mick needs to sort out CH pairing because too often we have a soft centre. Craddock back in for now, please. He’s the most reliable CH we have at the minute. For all Berra’s plaudits he cost us 2 goals on Sunday (assuming he was Turner’s marker). Craddock and Mancienne – steadiness and experience of Jody could help Mancienne. Castillo looks good, Jarvis not contributing enough, Elokobi suspect and distribution poor. We must keep the ball in this league, right through the team. We need a left back! Doyle and Keogh definitely our best 2 strikers at the minute – movement is good. Not seeing much from Ebanks to worry defences since he’s come back.

Wolves scored two goals , double the amount to win a match. Therefor, the defence must be at fault. Whilst Berra is full of energy, he did fail to defend in a proper manner in three cases when Sunderland scored. Berra’s own actions of flinging his head up to the sky will verify he errors. The defence lacks team work and once again, where was the goal post markers? It is not good enough and whilst I can go along with Mccarthy in many respects, such as playing youth and full of running concepts he was a defender of sorts and an international team manager who cut his teeth, in many ways at Sunderland, and should know better. What ever will the likes of Drogba Rooney and Torres do?

Stef from Bromley does have a point.Keogh is not a goal scorer, but for the uneducated, he creates spaces for others but the others tend to watch and not run with him. Doyle understands and he is now starting to get back to form. As a team they are energetic but some players cannot think quick enough. Halford and his long throws are too predictable and reasoable defenders can deal with those. As yet he has a lot to learn. E Blake is far from being fit and it will take time to adjust after a long spell on the sidelines. We wish him well

Some players do require an alarm clock to wake them up from time to time during the game and until they move about, J M should charge them for admission and not pay them for watching.

Stan Cullis would comment, “You run until you drop, then you get up and start all over again,or go and find another club!”

Hennssey seems to be coming off his line a bit more and that will be Hahnemann’s influence on the training ground. Jarvis has had moments on class but needs to be more direct. As much as I can’t fault Keogh for his workrate and link up play, we are going to concede a lot of goals this season. For that reason alone we need two strikers who will score goals and that means we need SEB and Doyle up front.

Mancienne is a bit of a disappointment at the moment, I only hope his situational awareness and decision making improves pretty rapidly.

I think Henry is one of the big positives for me so far, think he is doing really well in midfield, but better when Castillo is alongside him.

Jarvis looks a little out of his league and jury is out on Elokobi, who is strong physically, but suspect against anyone with a turn of pace and agility.

Never commented on here before, as I always find it difficult communicating with idiots, but I couldn’t hold back today as I’m in disbelieve at all the stick levelled following Sunday’s game. We should all be very proud of the performance and our greatest hope should be for much of the same (obviously with a different outcome) for the remainder of the season. Most of you still have the same ideas of players and the management formed from previous seasons, proof that idiots never like to be proven wrong.

I’m not sure if any of you were actually watching Saturday’s game given the comments above, but if you were watching a similar game as a neutral, say Burnley vrs Sunderland, then I’m sure you would have been very impressed with Burnley, thought they were the better side (particularly in a footballing sense) and had been completely hard done by. Yes we conceded 5 goals, and some of the them were our own fault, but on another day the score would never have been so faltering, especially when considering the dodgy first penalty, how Jones’s shot went though 2 players legs into the far corner (quality goal, worthy of winning any game, but yes we should have been marking tighter), and then the deflection for the 5th goal.

I realise there were faults with the performance but there is always going to be at our level. It’s all about how you deal and learn from the mistakes and how you can force your opponents into making similar mistakes, which if we continue playing as we did, then we will be fine of this front, but will need to take the chances as and when they come.

One comment that I’m absolutely astounded by is the suggestion of dropping Karl Henry. I’m sure most of the apparent prepubescent (look it up in the dictionary – you may actually learn something today) posters on here with completely disagree but he has been our rock this season and is absolutely vital to our team. On the striker front, then I would say that we looked far more threatening with the starting line up (including Keogh), than the finishing line up, but I think the change was right as Keogh and Doyle had been run into the ground by that point. I appreciate and agree that SEB is a more accomplished striker but he’s still getting fit and needs to find his feet at this level. I’m sure he will, and sure that he will get his chance, but Keogh is the right choice at the moment with SEB waiting in the wings to come on.

I can’t be bothered saying much more, as I doubt most of you will have ready this far down the text as it contains a few more words than your average ‘Spot the Dog’ books. For those that have, and have a considered, well thought out balanced view (even if different to mine), then I do apologise that the above has been worded in the global sense, I don’t mean to tar you all with the same brush, but the content on here just astounds me.

Rant over, bring on the retorts (that means to snap back / reply angrily), just don’t expect a reply as these pages just depress me as it indicates not only an insight into the lunacy of some of our supporters, but also how bad the British education system has become.

I read the E&S online on a regular basis but rarely bring myself round to reading to comments posted below articles, now i know why. I have never read so many poor postings in all my life. I assume the majority or negative posters are West Br*m fans ‘having a laugh’, but i imagine some are genuine Wolves fans.
To think that Keogh had a poor game and is out of his depth is ridiculous. Along with Henry, he has actually lokker BETTER in the Premier League this season that he did in the CCC last!.
The weak links in the line ups so far this season are Jarvis and Elokobi, apart from this we seem much more suited to the league than i thought we would.
Highlights for me this season have been Doyle, Keogh, Henry, Berra and the return of Kights…Roll on Saturday and lets show these Portsmouth fans how Wolves can play up….

If we allow Portsmouth to win on Saturday, it will be time for the big man with white hair and an even bigger mouth to fall on his sword forthwith.
Unless he does Wolves will be history and playing Championship football next season.

For much of last season McCarthy rode on the backs of some very talented players, Ebanks- Chris- Foley- Kightly and so on, he had little or nothing to do with Wolves promotion…that was down to the players.

I have noticed that there is still some spirit left in the Wolves squad which needs to be taken up by a good reliable Manager, someone, unlike muppet Mick, the players can respect, and move forward.

Lets face it,with the exception of Doyle and maybe Milijas when he finds form, all of our signings are second rate and not up to premiership football, and they should be immediatly considered to be sent out on loan, not the likes of Volkes, a lad with much potential.

The top priority for owner Morgan is to find and install a new leader to manage Wolves in the top division, and send McCarthy , his mouth and his ego, back to the lesser divisions, or better still to Perth Australia with his mate.

Bromsgrove) Keogh is being played as a striker. a striker who cannot score is not good at his job no matter how much clever running around he does.

Its time to fall on your sword Mick….For once in your live do the right thing.
Don’t wait until Morgan see’s the light, although you will.

You were a ‘hack’ footballer, and have become a worse Manager, look at your record.
And believe me Mick, you had nothing to do with Wolves success last season…that was totally down to your assistant and some very talented lads such as Ebanks- Chris- Hennersey- Ward-Kightly-and several others.
These guys have real guts, and under new leadership will survive.

Get out now Mick,,,You are not even a has been, you never ever were !!!

I went to the game and we played well. Main thing is that keogh has no end product, he got in a few good positions but then lost the ball in a bad pass or turned backwards on got tackled. Even though Berra was at fault for 2 goals I think he’s an outstanding player, the amount of times he swept up the danger was awesome. Mancienne looks to be a bit light weight for this league, especially when he was marked Jones. Bad substitutions, Doyle was having a great game and shouldn’t have gone off. The Hoff looks like a good player, he got in good positions and wasn’t scared of comming short or out wide for the ball. Elokobi was a bit suspect, Bent got past him a few times but he is such a unit he won the ball more times than not. Still looking good though boys UTW

Oakham Wolf – It’s nice to hear from supporters who actually seem to know a thing about the game.

The people who don’t are those saying Karl Henry should be dropped, i’d put my house on it. I was at the game Sunday and Karl was our man of the match. Never ever shys away from recieving the ball and can win the ball aswell as maintaining possession with his passing. Unbeliveable how much stick he gets, especially as he’s Wolverhampton through and through.

What i would say is that the only changes that ought to be considered are playin Foley and left back and starting Kights instead of Jarvo. Just seems that Jarvis isn’t confident enough to take players on at the moment, which is what he’s good at, and Foley would be a better attacking and defensive option at left back instead of George right now.

Big game Sat, BUT NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL OF THE SEASON!

for all the people who r asking y castillo was taken off it was because he felt his hamstring pulling and mick didnt want to risk him. Also he took keogh and doyle off because we had twenty mins to score 2 goals and the only way we were going to do that was route 1 so he put on the beanpole hof and the powerhouse seb.

105,Obviously when you want an intelligent conversation you resort to talking to yourself Sad,The majority of respondents are die hard supporters with varying views which they like to air through this site.I Agree that independant viewers on Sunday would have enjoyed a great game,BUT as a Wolves fan surely even you must be a tad concerned at the way we are concedeing goals and if Man City had converted half of the chances they created our goals against column would already be looking rather sick.Take off the blinkers and see the alarm bells ringing as they are already.

90 -dont agree with Jiwal again as in it being 2003 again. For a start we had plenty of experienced players in that team, but no legs.Apart from Camara we had no pace up front either. Murray and Lescott were crucial misses for that side.
The bottom line is how quickly some of the players can adapt to playing week in and out at this level and whether MM will be strong enough to leave out those who are not cutting it. How can we say Berra/Mancienne are playing so well when their individual mistakes have cost us at blackburn and sunderland? There are a lot of positives with our workrate and attitude, but like i keep sayin, this league is cruel if you make mistakes you will be punished, if dont take your chances like we had a blackburn you lose, and you cannot aford to score 2 goals away from home and still lose. The reason we lost to sunderland is because we made more mistakes than they did. Lets see how they get on at Man City.
