Villagers engaged in fight for phone

Confusion has broken out among residents and BT over the future of a traditional telephone box in a picturesque village near Wolverhampton.
People living in Chesterton, off the Bridgnorth Road near Pattingham, said they feared the company was going to cut off their traditional red phone box, which has been listed by English Heritage.
Residents campaigned to get the phone box listed in a bid to save it for the future, but claimed BT had then threatened to remove the actual telephone. The communications giant today insisted it has no plans to do so.
