Forgotten Jones joins Notts County
Friday 25th September 2009, 10:00AM BST.
Wolves’ forgotten utility man Daniel Jones has joined Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Notts County revolution by signing on loan until January with a view to a permanent move.
The 22-year-old has been at the club since the age of 10 but has only ever made eight appearances for the first-team and has been farmed out on loan to Northampton and, last season, Oldham.
Now the Wordsley-born player drops into League Two for the first time with moneybags County, and could make his debut tomorrow at home to Port Vale.
And with the player’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Jones could be gone for good.
County boss Ian McParland said: “Daniel has got lots of energy, he can head it and is a good addition to the squad. He’s young, hungry and he wants to do well.”
