A father-of-two has published a book about a trip he took around America with his two young sons, in memory of his late wife.
Mark Brennand, 49, of Newbridge Avenue, Newbridge, who does freelance marketing and public relations, wrote the book after travelling around America with sons Jack, 13, and Tom, 11, in August 2008.
Mr Brennand had planned to take the trip with his late wife, Catherine, who died of breast cancer aged 44 in 2006.
He said he makes many references to Catherine in the book, Three Blokes in a Dodge: A Clockwise Journey Around the American South West, of which he has printed 500 copies.
He said: “It’s a diary account, it really relates to the trip that I had postponed two years earlier. I do write about my wife, I talk about what it’s like to live with someone who is dying of breast cancer.
“It’s nice to have something in print. For those who have read it, it has been well-received.”
Mr Brennand said he had been to America before, but for Jack and Tom, who attend Adams’ Grammar School in Wolverhampton, it was their first time and they were excited to see the wonders of Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park.
