Boy, 11, hurt in collision

An 11-year-old boy was flown to hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a car not far from his home.

He was struck in Leighswood Road, Aldridge, at around 3.45pm yesterday.

The air ambulance landed on Anchor Meadow in Middlemore Lane before flying the boy, who lives just off Leighswood Road, to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he was today in a serious but stable condition The driver, a man in his late 60s, suffered shock.
