Drugs factory found at home

Saturday 29th August 2009, 11:30AM BST.

Police have uncovered yet another cannabis factory in the Black Country – just days after the last £50,000 drugs den was discovered.

Cannabis plants and specialist growing equipment were found in two rooms of a semi-detached house in Wolverhampton Road East, Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton.

Officers raided the house following reports of a man acting suspiciously outside. Police smashed through the front door before emptying the contents of the rooms into three skips outside.

The discovery comes just two days after 250 cannabis plants with a street value of £50,000 were found in Delves Green Road, Walsall.

Yesterday officers stood guard on the driveway while others investigated inside and placed bin bags and plastic containers into the skips.

West Midlands Police Spokeswoman Zoe Lees said the exact number of plants was not known yet but they filled two large rooms.

One neighbour said police needed three skips to empty the house.
