Officers hunt for missing boy, 15
Friday 28th August 2009, 4:40PM BST.
A 15-year-old boy has disappeared from his Black Country home – sparking a huge search with helicopters and sniffer dogs.
Saleem Bashir left his house in Franchise Street, Wednesbury, sometime yesterday afternoon.
When his mother returned home at 3pm, the youngster, who has learning difficulties, was gone.
Police have been searching for Saleem overnight, particularly around Kings Hill Park in Old Park Road.
Acting Inspector Sam Jones from Wednesbury Police Station said: “We are very concerned for Saleem’s welfare. He is vulnerable and to go missing like this is out of character.
“Searches so far have failed to locate him and we urge local people to be on the lookout and call us if they have seen him since yesterday lunchtime.”
Saleem is Asian, 4ft 11in tall, of slim build, with black cropped hair. He was last seen wearing a black coat and black jogging bottoms.
