Treasure trove of stolen goods
Wednesday 26th August 2009, 5:05PM BST.
Bracelets, watches, cut-glass crystal and ornaments – the items pictured are all believed to have been stolen from houses across the region.
Police picked up the valuables from the Wolverhampton home of a suspected burglar and are now hoping to find their rightful owners.
The haul includes Royal Doulton glasses, a video camera and china ornaments. Police are keen for burglary victims to come forward and claim their property. Any items which are not collected are set to be auctioned off to raise cash for the West Midlands Police Force’s police fund, which is then passed to charities .
Dc Darren Jones, of Wednesfield CID, said today: “All of the items were found in one house in Wolverhampton and we believe they were stolen.
“We have managed to find the owners of some the items and given them back but there is no way of tracing these.”
