New star Kasiama urged to shine

Tuesday 25th August 2009, 8:30AM BST.

Stafford v Farsley Celtic 1 JAH 22Stafford Rangers manager Chris Brindley has urged new star Fabrice Kasiama to keep playing his way into his thoughts.

The Congolese teenager came to the Blue Square North outfit in the summer after being released from the Wolves academy, and is currently the club’s top scorer after two goals in his last three games.

After spending pre-season at full-back, Kasiama has now found his scoring boots after being urged to attack by the manager.

And the 18-year-old has been a revelation on the left side of midfield after being moved upfield, evidenced by a great solo goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against visitors Farsley Celtic, adding to a strike in the previous home game against Workington.

Fast becoming a darling with the Marston Road faithful, Brindley has urged him to keep up the good work.

He said: “Fabrice is doing alright and scored a great goal on Saturday. But I don’t want to comment on individual players as our good run is down to all of the boys, but he has certainly done himself no harm.

“Some of the football we played, particularly in the first-half on Saturday, was outstanding. And Farsley are a good side, the best we have played yet.”
