Silence to be held for Bobby

A minute’s silence will be held for former Wolves legend Bobby Thompson before the club’s Carling Cup game against Swindon tomorrow night.
Mr Thompson, who played 300 games for the club from 1959-69, died in Russells Hall Hospital last Wednesday at the age of 65 after a battle with prostate cancer.
His funeral will take place on Thursday at All Saints Church in Sedgley at 11.45am.
Regarded as one of the club’s finest full-backs of all time, he leaves a wife Jan, three children and three grandchildren.
Born in Smethwick, Thomson joined Wolves in their halcyon era of the late 1950s and went on to play in 300 games. He won eight full England caps.
