Petition protest on health farm plan
Monday 24th August 2009, 10:36AM BST.
Residents battling plans for a health farm have collected more than 100 signatures against the scheme.
Villagers living close to Sugars Farm, Rock, near Kidderminster fear dangerous levels of traffic and it paving the way for further developments at the site.
Farm owners sent plans to Wyre Forest District Council for a retreat offering yoga and dance therapy as well as overnight accommodation in 10 on-site chalets.
Villagers say narrow roads struggle with traffic and cannot safely accommodate increased vehicle numbers. Members of the protest group, who took less than a week to collect more than 100 names for their petition, view plans as an expansion of a nearby holiday village and fear it coulc set a precedent for future developments within the forest and pave the way for more ambitious schemes.
