Canal funding hope

Stourport’s restored Canal Basins are in the running for the best project funded by Lottery cash.
The basins, which underwent a £4million restoration last year, will appear in the live BBC final of The National Lottery Awards 2009 on September 5.
The project will go head-to-head with two other attractions in the same category on a show called The National Lottery: Big 7 in the hope of being crowned Best Heritage Project to scoop £2,000 prize money and a trophy.
