Bets off for new Wolves shirt
Wednesday 5th August 2009, 8:11AM BST.
Young Wolves fans are stuck for choice for the first time – as two different junior kits have gone on sale in the club shops.
The newly-promoted Premier League team have brought out an alternative kit to the one worn by players, which bears the Sportingbet.com logo.
Youngsters can choose from the traditional kit or one without the name of the on-line betting firm. The new shirts bear a black Wolves Community Trust logo, designed for parents who prefer their children not to advertise the gambling company.
A total of 1,000 home and away shirts in all sizes have been ordered for the club shops at Molineux and in Dudley Street.
Mini kits for those aged 0 to six months and four to five-years-old are priced at £30. Older children can buy shirts for £30, shorts for £15 and socks for £7.
The club shop at Molineux has sold out of the sportingbet.com shirts for those aged four to five, and is awaiting delivery.
Shop assistant Rita Haynes, aged 52, said: “This is the first time we have had two kits on sale for children.”
