Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has ruled out a move for 22-capped Hungary international right-back Zoltan Szelesi.
The 27-year-old, a free agent since leaving Strasbourg at the end of last season, played in Wednesday’s 1-0 win at Crewe.
But the boss will field three central defenders who weren’t used on Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Doncaster in tomorrow’s trip to Scunthorpe and Wednesday’s game at Wrexham.
Ronald Zubar, Richard Stearman and trialist Bobo Balde all failed to feature at the Keepmoat Stadium.
McCarthy has told such players that there is chance for anyone to gatecrash his starting line-up for the Hammers opener.
He added: “I said to the players they’re not fighting against me to play in the game – they’re fighting against themselves.”
