Power cut hits homes in region

More than 1,700 properties in the Black Country were without power when an electricity sub station developed a fault.
Homes and businesses were hit at around 9.36pm last night.
Central Networks spokeswoman Joanne Small said the majority of properties had power restored at 9.56pm.
She said the cause of the fault was unknown and a team was due to investigate the problem.
