Pompey to rebuff Distin interest

Villa’s bid to sign Sylvain Distin has hit the rocks with Portsmouth insisting the centre-half is staying at Fratton Park.
Claret and boss Martin O’Neill has been linked with a £2million move for the Frenchman, but newly installed Pompey manager Paul Hart wants to keep the former Manchester City star.
The Fratton Park chief said: “We want Sylvain to remain at this football club and will be making sure he does.
“We have only ever had one offer for him and I am not at liberty to say who from. But we told them we were not interested under any circumstances.”
