Boyfriend tried to kill his lover in city street
Tuesday 21st July 2009, 5:29PM BST.
A furious lover who used a block of cement to attack his girlfriend in a Wolverhampton street this afternoon admitted her attempted murder.
Israel Mukucha used a variety of weapons to attack 23-year-old Fallon Fraser in Cornfield, Pendeford, after knocking her to the ground, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard today.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to attempted murder on what was due to be the first day of his trial.
The court heard that Mukucha, of Bridge Street, Coseley, and Miss Fraser had an on-off 12-month relationship during which there had been no violence.
He had once allegedly threatened to kill her prior to the unprovoked attack, which happened in January this year.
Remanding him in custody, Judge John Wait said he was unwilling to sentence Mukucha without a psychiatric report.
Judge Wait said: “He mounted an attack using a variety of weapons and going on ultimately to deliver appalling blows with a cement block or brick to the already prone body of his partner.”
Mr Sukdev Garcha, defending said Mukucha accepted what he had done and knew he would get a custodial sentence. No date has been fixed for sentence.
