Harriers set to welcome Wolves
Friday 17th July 2009, 8:45AM BST.
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates expects his side’s stiffest test yet as Premier League Wolves come to Aggborough for a marquee friendly.
Mick McCarthy’s men are expected to field the likes of transfer-listed trio Neill Collins, Jason Shackell and Darren Ward tomorrow (3pm), while Mark Little is also in the squad.
That as a back-four could spell trouble for Harriers attackers, with Shackell alone a £1million defender and all four boasting significant Championship experience.
But former Molineux youngster Matthew Barnes-Homer will fancy that challenge, while at the back another player let go from Wolves – defender Martin Riley – will be keen to show his boyhood club what they are missing.
The visitors are expected to bring a young squad to supplement those stars, but Yates knows his team will have to wary of any player wearing the gold and black come kick off.
The Harriers boss said: “The players that they are building in that squad are brilliant, right down to the youngsters, so whatever team they bring to us tomorrow will be very strong.
“I know it will be a decent side, so it’s likely to be a very different test for our boys.
“They will bring a lot of their fans down to Aggborough, hopefully we will have a fairly big home crowd of our own so it should create a really good atmosphere.
“I would like to thank everyone at Wolves that has made this friendly possible, it’s quite a little coup for us.”

£10 for adults is ridiculous for a match thats only against a Wolves XI, made up of academy graduates and 3 transfer listed defenders!! We’re only charging that for our senior squad vs Real Valladolid!!

Why always so negative.
£10 is nothing. Smaller clubs like the harriers rely on games like this for financial help.
If the price is to much for you then dont go but for god’s sake stop moaning.

as my name states,im from kiddy, and they do have financial problems as do lots of teams, but the 2 clubs have always had good relations as loan deals from the mighty wolves help kiddy along..10 quid is a little steep for a “reserve” team but i for one will be going…up the wolves
