Halford focus is on R & R

Most footballers like to unwind by playing a bit of music. But in Wolves new signing Greg Halford’s case, he has decided to invest in his own record company that manage emerging bands.
Halford’s label – R & R World – had the perfect showcasing from their big benefactor when he opened the scoring, a goal in the 1-1 FA Cup draw against Hull last season, celebrating by raising his Sheffield United shirt to reveal a T-shirt bearing the company’s name.
“I’ve invested in a record label called R & R, which was well publicised after my goal against Hull in the FA Cup!” said Halford.
“One of my best mates, Paul Rose, is manager of a couple of bands and he got me on board and interested.
“Music has always been a passion of mine and it’s a hobby outside football, but I’m also looking to the future.”
And it’s a future that he’s ultimately hoping to shape through the two bands currently on their books.
“One band is a soft rock act a bit like U2 called Oswald which are hitting the United States at the moment and looking good,” he said.
“They’re based in Scotland but they’re trying to break into the States.
“We’ve also got a boy band called Vice who are trying to break through in the UK.
“They’re based all over – one’s from Liverpool, one from Russia and one’s from Essex but they’ve got a good blend.”
