Alderman in intensive care

Honorary Alderman of Wyre Forest District Council John Simmonds has been taken ill while on holiday near Manchester, it was revealed today.
Mr Simmonds was said to be in intensive care following surgery at Bolton Royal Infirmary. He became only the third former councillor to be an honorary Alderman last year.
Councillor Stephen Clee, cabinet member for Wyre Forest District Council, said that Mr Simmond’s wife, Pat, and his family were at his bedside.
