A teaching assistant accused of helping her husband film young girls visiting her home broke down in court as she denied having any part in his crime.

Rosemary Foxall told a Wolverhamplton Crown Court jury she had no idea her husband Martin had been using a camcorder to film girls bathing and changing at their Brownhills home.

She also denied talking about sex to her husband in front of girls who regularly visited their home.

Foxall, who also worked as a school dinner lady, is accused of luring young girls to their home for pool parties and running them baths afterwards while her husband filmed them from a peephole in the loft above.

The prosecution allege Foxall played an “active part” with her husband.

In police interviews, Mr Foxall told police he acted alone. He committed suicide days after being questioned.

Cross-examining Foxall yesterday, Mr Phillip Bradley accused her of creating a “sexual atmosphere” in the house but she angrily replied: “No, I didn’t.” Mr Bradley said “You are an assistant teacher, a dinner lady and a youth worker. Don’t you think it was inappropriate for you to talk in front of young girls in a sexual manner?

“Are you saying the girls who said that you did talk about sex in front of them are liars?”

In reply, Foxall said: “I am not saying they are liars I just can’t remember.”

Foxall, aged 47, denies 10 counts of making indecent videos and photographs of children and possessing 147 indecent photographs and videos of young girls.

Firefighters allegedly stumbled across camcorder equipment and pornographic images of adults and children after investigating a fire last summer. They alerted police and the Foxalls were arrested soon after.

Earlier this week a video was shown to the court of two girls having a bath at the couple’s home after playing in their outdoor swimming pool.

Just before the girls get in the bath Mrs Foxall is heard saying “they want to go in together” followed by Mr Foxall who was filming in the loft saying “go on then.”

A girl witness has told the court they would hear noises in the loft as they bathed. The court heard Rosemary Foxall blamed the noises on squirrels. The trial continues.
