Wife in porn case ‘hated husband’
Wednesday 8th July 2009, 4:17PM BST.
A teaching assistant from Brownhills accused of helping her late husband film young girls in the bath told police she had no idea what he was doing, declaring she “hated him”, a court heard today.
Rosemary Foxall labelled husband Martin, who killed himself days after being questioned by detectives, “obnoxious and very controlling”.
Her version of events was revealed in police interviews read out to Wolverhampton Crown Court today, where she is on trial accused of making indecent videos and photographs of children.
She denies all the charges, but the prosecution says she lured young girls to their Sadler Road home for pool parties and baths while her husband would film them.
But Foxall told police she had innocently brought girls back to the house after making friends with children and parents during her role as a dinner lady and teaching assistant.
She also told detectives she had warned her husband about his “inappropriate behaviour” with young girls.
“He was always playing tricks on them and they would always be sitting on his lap,” she said.
“I would tell him that I thought it was inappropriate and that he shouldn’t do it but he never took notice. A friend of mine also noted it.”
During the interview, Foxall was asked what she thought of her husband following the discovery of the indecent videos and she replied: “I hate him”.
Describing her husband she said: “He was often obnoxious and very controlling. He wanted his own way all the time.”
Foxall, aged 49, denies 10 counts of making indecent videos and photographs. She also denies possessing 147 indecent images.
