Porn ‘left lying around by couple’
Friday 3rd July 2009, 11:30AM BST.
Pornographic DVDs and sex toys were left in the bathroom and bedroom of a couple accused of secretly filming young girls while they stayed over for sleepovers, a court heard.
Teaching assistant Rosemary Foxall, pictured, and her husband Martin – who killed himself days after being questioned by police – would encourage their visitors to stay in their bedroom despite others being available, one girl told a jury yesterday. The girls also spotted two camcorders in the bedroom – one placed on a wardrobe and another in a bundle of washing, it is alleged.
Giving evidence at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday, the girl said: “The porn DVDs were on open view, you couldn’t help but see them. Rose and Martin would always be talking about sex in front of us. I did think it was a bit weird as we were only children.”
She said she had taken baths many times over a number of years at the couple’s home as she enjoyed swimming pool parties.
She said Mrs Foxall, also a dinner lady, always insisted she should take a bath at the home because she “shouldn’t go home with wet hair.” The girl also told the jury how sex toys were left on open view.
The late Mr Foxall is alleged to have filmed the girls from the loft of the home which is above the bathroom while they took a bath. The prosecution says Mrs Foxall played an “active part” in the filming alongside her 50-year-old husband. The girl said: “I did notice that every time I took a bath Martin would go up into the loft.”
Mrs Foxall, aged 49, of Sadler Road, Brownhills, is accused of 10 counts of making indecent videos and photographs of children. She is also accused of possessing 147 indecent photographs and videos of young girls. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges and her trial is expected to last until Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to the couple’s home in July last year following a fire and allegedly stumbled upon camcorder equipment in the loft and the couple’s bedroom, along with a stash of pornographic DVDs and photographs, as well as images of children.
The case continues although no evidence was due to be heard today.
