No play for Bernie in Nolan tour clash
Friday 3rd July 2009, 11:30AM BST.
Singing star Bernie Nolan has pulled out of a play at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre – because she is touring the UK with The Nolans instead.
Bernie, aged 48, was due to appear in The Tart And The Vicar’s Wife later this month.
But her involvement in the play came before the announcement that the Nolans were reforming for a British tour, dubbed In The Mood Again.
Her role in the play has now been taken by Linda Armstrong, who plays Irish nun Sister Brigid in ITV’s The Royal.
Bernie, who has starred in Brookside and The Bill, will still be coming to Wolverhampton when the Nolans perform at the Civic Hall on October 17, which is also her birthday.
She will be joined by her sisters Coleen, 44, Linda, 50, and Maureen, 55. The foursome will also appear at the Birmingham NIA on October 28.
Last week, Bernie told the Express & Star that The Nolans’ comeback tour was “absolutely mental”.
Tickets for the Civic gig are priced £35 and are available on 0870 320 7000 or at www.wolvescivic.co.uk
Meanwhile, The Tart And The Vicar’s Wife is at the Grand from July 14 to July 18. Call 01902 429212 or visit www.grandthe atre.co.uk to book.
