Burton boss confirms move for Penn
Friday 3rd July 2009, 8:45AM BST.
Kidderminster midfielder Russell Penn has been the subject of a bid from Burton Albion – as exclusively revealed in the Express & Star.
Burton boss Paul Peschisolido has confirmed a move to bring the England C Player of the Year to the Pirelli Stadium, with an offer already made to Harriers.
But the Brewers boss has warned that he will not get caught up in a bidding war for the 23-year-old’s services.
He said: “We have shown an interest in the player and made a bid, which we are happy with and we think is fair.
“We are waiting on an answer, but we are not going to get caught up in an auction.
“I am concerned that someone has put this out in order to start a bidding war.
“I am not interested in that. We are not going to go crazy with regard to money – that’s not how we do business.
“I would like to think we can get a deal done, but it has to be reasonable.”
