Wolves saw off late interest from Premier League big guns Villa, Everton and Tottenham to land record £6.5million signing Kevin Doyle.
Although Doyle gave Wolves boss Mick McCarthy his word that he would sign at the weekend, sources close to the transfer reckon Everton and Villa made an 11th hour attempt to hijack the deal, while Spurs’ chances hinged on selling Darren Bent.
The Republic of Ireland international could also have earned more at Fulham, West Ham and Sunderland.
Wolves negotiated under the price that triggered the release clause with Reading to land their man.
The 25-year-old striker has signed a four-year contract, after a medical,to become Wolves’ third summer signing, after Nenad Milijas and his former Reading team-mate Marcus Hahnemann.
But he was happy to sign for Wolves, where the fee dwarfs the £3million Wolves paid for Ade Akinbiyi and Kenny Miller in 1999 and 2002.
Doyle said: “Wolves were the first club that came in and settled things with Reading, so they were the first club I spoke to.
“I was expecting a long summer but they were in straight away. I spoke to the manager and chief executive over a week ago and came to the training ground to see everything.
“It was nice to see how keen they were when I came in and met the manager. I just got on really well with him.
“I had a good easy conversation with him and it felt right.”
Doyle believes Wolves’ young and hungry Championship-winning squad reminds him of when Reading went up in 2005/06 and finished eighth in their first season of Premier League football.
He said: “I don’t know why we did so well, but I went in there wide-eyed, excited and fresh to play. That got us through.
“It was a bit like it is with Wolves now, in that none of us had played in the Premier League before.”
Doyle’s arrival is smoothed by knowing Hahnemann from Reading and Andy Keogh and Kevin Foley from the Irish set-up.
He has also played against Stephen Ward in Ireland and the Championship.
The club-record buy said: “I’m leaving one good set of Irish lads to join another, as well as knowing Marcus.
“It makes it that bit easier to settle in when there are faces you recognise.”

Well done one and all connected to the transfer. This shows we can compete with established premier clubs and get our man. Now lets go and get the other targets to enable the team to gel on pre season. My guess is the targets will be :-
1. Mancienn on season loan
2. Kevin Nolan
3. Zubar
4. Lecko
5. Atouba

Get in!! Young and Hungry again I like it! I dont know what it is but I have a great feeling about this year.Mancienne,Zubar,Surman and this Leko bloke we will be raring to go.Roll on August!!

Excellenet signing – reminds me of when my team, Moulinex Mixers, first got promted to the top league, when we could compete for big signings, thanks to our sponsosrhip deal with Spa.

Waht a Signing!!!! Come on me Babbies!!!
Good on ya Kev!
Let’s hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship between you & SEB.
Well done Wolves………
Report abuse
Great signing! Him and SEB will work well I feel. I had a feeling Everton would make a 11th hour bid. But this is the sort of player we need. Someone that wants to be here and not here for the cash (Dann)!
Flashed the cash now aint we moaners?? Probaly moan he is Irish! Next stop the defence.
Anyone up for breaking this club record bid with another one this summer??? (Mancienne!)
I think a cheeky bid for Richards would be good as City want to get rid!
Wolves are staying up!
1) The report says that Everton tried to hijack it and the indications yesterday were that Sunderland were favourites, so it was never that clear cut.
I reckon that this is a quality signing that shows our intent. Get Leko in and sort the Serb’s work permit and then let’s sort out a centre half.
The Tesco’s will be worried!
Get in!!!! Excellent signing
Report abuse
great signing for the club, this is a real statement of intent and this will surely prove to other possible transfer targets that wolves are here to stay. Well done, Mick, Steve & Jez for pulling this one off!
Great news but I wonder what the born moaners will come up with next!
Get in there! fantastic signing well done the 3M’s now get mancienne, zubar, surman, and leko and we will be fine. UP THE WOLVES
Report abuse
Hope this proves to other intended targets that we are not just going there to make the numbers up. Hopefully with SEB and Doyle we can get the goals to help keep us there. C’MON MI BABBIES.

Great bit of business!!
Now let me get this right – the club have just agreed the transfer purchase of a player who hardly scored a goal in 2009 and was a regular substitute in a failing Championship team.
Mmmmm, good business at £6.5 million, but for whom??
more to come yet bozssssss
Report abuse
Well done Moxey. Thought it was interesting that the Reading Chairman specifically name checked him as being a key element of the deal. Come on!
The fact that he has turned his back on more dough speaks volumes for his ambition and future commitment to the Club. Well done the 3Ms, another great deal!

Get in! Go n’eiri an bothar leat Kevin! – Good Luck Kevin!

Some of you will remember my post last week where i stated that that i was informed that Wolves would make the announcement of the Kevin Doyle signing this week, together with a surprise announcement.
the surprise announcement will be made later this week, and has nothing to do with the signing of Southampton’s mid fielder Surman..
Watch this space for a signing equally as good as Kevin Doyle….Any guesses ????
Well Oslowolf (20), you now have your answer. Misery sits one place below you on the message board (21).
great season ahead if we can steer clear of injuries.
surman on his way too get in

A true show of intent which is what we were looking for, will put a buzz around the Mol and send a message out to the Prem.
WE ARE BACK AND BACK TO STAY!

well done wolves, bolton fulham sunderland, are not as big as wolves and doyle seen that, great fan base, great stadium great history, great black country football club but apart from that we’re GGGGGGRRRREEEAAAATTTT, COME ON 21 LETS ENJOY THE MOMENT HE WILL BE A GREAT PREM PLAYER, UP THE WOLVES.
Im BUZZIN!!! lol
This is a decent buy maybe the price tag is a bit inflated, just hope he can bag a few in the opening 5 games. Good to see the Surman deal could happen one defo for future. I rekon we should take bale now on loan from tottenham + a old head in midfield similar to danny murphy.
20.
Was that a moan about moaning?
Can’t wait for the new season, got that good feeling about it. Doyle will fit in great.
21. He was their top scorer last season!
He has proven himself at the top level, with him and SEB up front we will be a team that scores SIMPLE AS! Great signing :D
Report abuse
Bored of the doubters, proof is in the pudding so we will see. He is rated very highly by those in the game and apart from an admittedly poor 2nd half of last season, for which there are a number of reasons not only loss of form he has proved himself to be a top player. Class is permanant form is temporary! Sidenote hope the Tesco boy’s don’t land Di Matteo as new boss! Still work to do but looks like that is all in hand, a tough season ahead but plenty to look forward to and looks like we will be able to more than compete if the 3 M’s keep this ball rolling!!
Having not seen Doyle play much how do we see the two (SEB and him) playing off each other. Which one will be the target man? Will SEB have to alter his style to accomodate him?
Not surprised to hear the positive comments coming from the Reading chairman. They’ve still got a couple of players they want to sell and there’s no harm stroking Moxey’s ego a little with some kind words.
But well done to the Wolves for paying such a big fee – although a little over the odds. Now is not the time to penny pinch and given the number of players we’ve got on our books that are well above the value we paid for them, the stakes are much higher and needed to be raised. Credit where credit is due to the board.
It’s been mentioned on some of the Doyle threads but I think of almost as great significance is the intent that this sends out to further prospective signings. I think it demonstrates the willingness of Wolves to “have a go” as MM has put it and this has to provide a boost to selling the club to potential targets.
I think the missing ingredients now are a couple of older heads and a centre half. Fingers crossed on the Mancienne rumours (albeit mostly press) which will undoubtedly intensify now the Euro U21′s are finished.
First of all No, 21! Stop the whinging! Deals are on the table or completing, i suppose you wont be happy until Rooney, Ronaldo and Robbie Keane signs eh!
Anyway, good business completed by Mr Moxey (about time he had some praise for the behind the scenes work), Doyle is a good player and will adapt well.
Would be good to see a few to strengthen the defence & midfield, ie. Dunne? Huddlestone? even if its on loan!
Keep the faith No 21 as there are good times ahead!
If he stays fit will be a good signing for you guys. I’m hoping all us midlands clubs are in prem for the 10/11 season. Good luck for the season.
Heard today that Newcastle’s Viduka Management has been in talks with Wolves over the weekend.
Now we have Doyle, surely we would not be interested in this aging striker ?
Does anyone think there is a place for him, he does have Premiership experience and I think his Country of origin is either Serb or Croasia
Report abuse
the only moaners who come on here are the jealous sadwell fans who pretend to be Wolves on here..
Even Terry is lost for words today..lol
great signing with more to come yet..
Some of you so called fans must just sit and wait to have a go,,its a good day,why cant you just leave it at that,,we do a good bit of buisness, and instead of being happy, you start looking for agro..just because someone has a different opinion doesnt make them Moaners..we have three season tickets in our house and its a miracle iff we agree about the Wolves,,but at the end of the day we all love the Wolves.
Loving the fact we have spent more on this signing than on all the signing last time we went up!
With the signing of Doyle….Is this farewell to big ‘Chris ?
Hear that Palace are very keen to sign him
Report abuse
Expect two more signings this week at least!!!
Its not what you spend that matters, but who you spend it on. KDs experience in the Prem will be a major advantage, once again MM swung it our way tactially, when other clubs could have out spent us…another major coup, the future looks bright the future looks gold and black.
28 Sam – equally as good???? Are you thinking a certain english and chelsea centre half and Not terry?????? I say Scholes or Ledley
I am going to have a moan now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My moan is about all the moaners being quiet today. WHERE ARE YOU?? Nothing to say as Moxey and Morgan have spent BIG and Mick was the reason the player came! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Report abuse
43 – the dig at the moaners are people that come on here every day and just moan about the club. They are usually first to post comments but not today. They never say anything good about our great club
Report abuse
Would be sorry to see big Chris go he was huge for us last year, but we could prob get 1.5 for him? and that could be reinvested We do need another striker as Vokes and Keogh (loads of potential) would not be ready to step in for an extended period. Victor Moses as part of a deal with big Chris to Palace?!!
That’s number 3, all for 9 million, so kitty should be still half left. Enough surely for Mancienne, a winger and defender.
Great signing for the club. Shows a real intent to spend the money on quality players in the young and hungry bracket.
Agree with the majority of other posters, with regard to the need to beef up the midfield and bring in a quality centre half.
Well done to the 3 M’s, Mr Moxey, always been a fan so credit where it’s due, good job.
A class act should pair up well with SEB. A lot of cash, but as another poster says this is more cash for one player than what we spent on the whole of the team last time we went up. More of the same please, Up the Wolves
Report abuse
Surman is a very good prospect. Vokes is going to Sheff Weds on loan I have heard.
No.50 Victor Moses as part of the deal sounds like a fantastic plan. I like Big Chris alot but I fear will struggle in the prem. We then need to go and get Macheda on loan from Man Utd and Aaron Ramsay
Report abuse
Has anyone else heard the rumours about a possible return of the prodigal son (Keano) ?
Hope it’s true.
And before anyone scoffs at that suggestion, it’s not that ridiculous a prospect… is it??
I would love a couple of defenders and a hard tackling midfielder.
Doyle is an excellent signing, however we still need another quality striker. If we have an injury to either or both we will be stuffed!
As regards Zubar, from what I have seen of him on tape, he scores more own goals than stops. This is not what we need at the back door a sieve!!
Duff would be a good acquisition. We still need strengthening at the back an a tough leader in the middle who knows where the net is.
Still think Ledley would be a good move.. :-)
54 Love to think it could happen Moses is going to be a star and as far as I am aware no links to anyone yet. Would be great to get Macheda and Ramsay on loan but if they were available anyone outside top four would probably be bidding but you never know. My gut feeling tells me that MM,JM,SM probably are moving close to the required signings as we speak, doing business in private, the proper way. For all you football manager dreamers Ze Roberto is on a free aparently!!!!! What about O’Hara at Spurs I prefer him to Huddlestone (he can’t run) and I doubt he’s in Harry’s first team plans.
56 – this is a Wolves site not a dating agency ;0
Report abuse
Keane returning would be amazing, but at a few of probably 15 Mil he would be out of reach, if we stay up and establish ourselves I have no doubt he will return in the not to distant future.
I must defend anyone that does moan on here. Some of my best mates and the best Wolves fans I know moan.
It’s a fans prerogative. Man U, Arsenal, Villa (Oh my God, Villa) they all moan. It’s what drives the clubs on and that’s why they have success (Oh my God, not Villa).
I think some of the moaners on here are just nervous types who are desperate for Wolves to do well (with the odd Sandwell-oooh seems like a nice boy-Town fan stirring it up). It takes all sorts and as long as they get behind the club when it counts, long may the moaning continue.
The last time we went into the Prem, the fans were immense. I’ve got this feeling we might have a bit more to shout about this time round…if they thought Stoke could make some noise they aint seen nothing yet.
Great signing! i hope that will attract other players because he had the chance to earn more money at other clubs and he chose us. i think what we need now is 1 or 2 expierenced premiership players to strengthen the squad even more
Report abuse
Doyle, surman, tommy smith
LOL

I keep reading that we have made an offer to Michael Owen but it is alot less than Hull have offered but he will be paid upon appearances and goals.
28 Sam Chambers thought you said both signings were going to announced at 4.00pm last Thurday. Anyway my guess is Mauro Camoranesi. Am I right?
Yessss!!! Fantastic signing in what was our no. 1 priority for the Prem. i.e. a quality player alongside SEB. I just hope with this kind of outlay that this is not the end of quality acquisitions. Mancienne would be great, Surman would provide good depth and possibly Joe Ledley too. Am I getting greedy? I don’t think so but we need to pursue even more quality to ensure survival. If Doyley gets 10 goals with perhaps 15 from SEB plus contributions from Kites, etc should be enough for survival if we can not concede against the less strong opposition.
Suddenly though with this signing I’m sure the only way is up.
great to beat villa, everton and bolton to sign Doyle.
Just shoows how far we have come.
Then again we are the biggest club in the Midlands…

Loving the new signing! this Season ticket is proving to be great value!!!
I think we should get the PREDATOR back on loan now for the season. and finish off this Surman deal and we are laughing!
Still think we should go big once more for a Premiership Midfielder too! i would even put my neck out and say go for a cheeky £1m bid for Dyer?? surely his injuries have stopped now and lets face it he is a class act wen he is playing!!
heard Joe cole is available too!!!
good player but alot of money … ihope hes worth it.
Bring in Surman, Ledley and Leko, for midfield
Zubar, shittu, and one other defender
and one more striker, chopra maybe.
ouch thats another 6 players i doubt it but is what we needto have a decent chance and a depth squad that have a chance at the moment if some one gets injured then we have a problem
Report abuse
More than anything, this signing demonstrates that Wolves have a certain ‘X’ factor and it’s obvious that the club has a big story to tell in terms of history, fan base, ambition, and other acquisitions that may be on the way. The fact that Kevin has chosen our great club over other ‘established’ premier clubs is a testament to the way in which our club is perceived more widely outside of Wolverhampton. Well done to all concerned with this deal and hope to see a few more quality new faces at the club before 15 August. I have a feeling that there are exciting times ahead. Out of darkness cometh light !!

A huge well done to Mick, Jez and Steve. Absolutely fantastic signing!! “THERES ONLY ONE KEVIN DOYLE……..”

65..not even close..Look for a defender that has been mentioned on this site only once, Wolves to offer approx half the Doyle record fee…understand accepted, and will be announced later this week.
Like the idea of Moses..the Palace player, and I would be after the likes of Lucas Neil the west Ham defender, who I understand is out of contract
Report abuse
Glad I’m not the only one who reckons Lucas Neil would be worth a serious look. Also my Dutch cousin reckons John Goosens of Nimagen (spelling) is awesome 19 years old product of Ajax youth can play left wing, left wing back and lethal as an out and out forward
Report abuse
63) Probably a jealous Tesco clown. We will be going nowhere and neither will you. Can’t even get a manager!
The team may look like this for the first game – Hennessey Foley Berra/Stearman Mancienne Elokobi Kightly Leko Milijas Jarvis Ebanks-Blake Doyle
If it does watch out West Ham!

Just seen on Sky sports, the Southampton chariman saying surman to Wolves for £1m.
Great bit of business for a very promising young player…

I’ll have a moan if thats what people want …
If we paid £6.5 for him, it’s too much.
But accepting we paid over the odds for him, I’m not even sure if he’s better than our best striker. If we are paying that sort of money, I would have hoped for someone better that Ebanks Blake. Each established player we sign now should be the best in that position within the club in my opinion.
It is good to see the club spending some serious money, and I hope we continue to do so in our quest to survive. And if this signing helps bring in some others who are undecided then it’s worth paying that bit extra to get Doyle. If Doyle is the best we can attract at the moment then fair enough. I just wish we could have got him for more like £4m …. moan moan moan.
Glad to see 95% of fans are over the moon with this signing, as I am. Anyone who wants to question him should firstly watch his goals on you tube. He is an outstnading young international. Tremendous skill and agility, uses both feet, the ball seems to stick to him like glue, he instinctively knows where the back of the net is, seems to score half of his goals with his head, and you rarely see him getting knocked off the ball. What more do we want for 6.5 million. I think the fact he has taken less money says a great deal about his character. I don’t know if Everton or Villa actually put bids in for him, but if he has chosen us above European football it can only paint a great picture of this clubs future direction, the confidence and the ambition running through the club. I would bet a large sum of money we will have signed three more players before we head to Oz, if not more.
I think things are shaping up nicely for the season.

this is the first REAL signing of intent. Congrats to MM, JM and SM !!!!!!!!

Driver again is a very good prospect an i’m all for that but I have to echo the sentiment of 84 we should be looking first and foremost to bring in players over and above the quality that we already have. Doyle ticks this box, SEB has frightening potential and I’m convinced he will hit double figures, but Doyle has proved he can do that. I also agree that if we don’t strengthen significantly at the back our forward players may be somewhat redundant. I remain positive that the 3 M’s have this all in order they know better than us all what areas need improving. I have spent far to much time on this today, need to do some work, but today is a good day to be a Wolf!!!! and the futures bright the future is Gold!

82 – row and seat number I will come say hi! :D
84 – Maybe SEB is worth more that 6.5 now he is a Prem forward? I do agree the players should be the better than we already have, but if he is better than one of the two forwards already on the books its a step in the right direction.
Congratulations Wolves!! Quality young striker! Surman is another good catch and will improve too. We desperately need central defenders in, I’m sure this is being worked on as we speak though so im not too worried. On paper our team is shaping up well and can comepete in the bottom half of the table with any of those type of teams.

Great Marquee signing for Wolves! Now if we get Craig Gardner and Mancienne (Both in the Stearman bracket of reserves for the U21s) alongside a few 1m signings like Surman, Mattock and Moses we will be in business…

this signing has made me happy i know he struggled in the later half of the season with reading last season but reading hardly play exciting fast flowing football like wolves ive always seen them as more of a muscle side alot like stoke are. I think he will settle in nicely and i think we should be thankfull if he can net us between 10 -12 goals in the premiership which i think he will because he will have good service and i think our style of football suites a striker like doyle whos good in the air beacause we play alot of crosses into the box just look at iwelumo he was struggling before he came to wolves but because hes good in the air our style of play complemented his work effort.
Doyle is a great signing. Fraizer Campbell still hasn’t made his mind up yet and would be a good addition for rotation and injuries.
Surman is a good up and coming talent and will also be a great aquisition. We still need a solid goal scoring midfielder – Ledley would fit that bill and Zak Knight or gardener at the back would be a good move.. :-)
See Burnley had a bid rejected for James McCarthy from Hamilton, Rep Ireland U21 Star will be a top level centre midfielder must be on MM radar. 1.5 Mil I reckon would get him and not really dent the kitty. Also good enough to go straight into 1st team squad and only 18
Report abuse
What a great signing!
Praise be to Allah and a thousand thankyous for bringing Doyle to Wolves. We will surely become an established team with this and one or two more signings!
Allahu Akbar!! Wolves Akbar!!

The great thing about Wolves is they tend to go out and do their business quietly, Doyle said in his interview Wolves bid for him the day after the season finished so to all those who criticize, the club has been on the ball where signings are concerned.
It would’nt surprise me if a couple of quality signings are waiting in the wings, remember Iwelumo last season who would have thought he would have made the impact he did.
Well done M,M and M here’s to further quality additions.

Surman
SEB and Doyle will be a great strike force

KEVIN NOLAN IS SIGNING FOR WOLVES THIS WEEK FOR 2M!!!!!!!!!! IT HAS BEEN AGREED AND MEDICAL JUST TO PASS NOW AND EVERYTHING WILL GO THROUGH!!!!!!!
i think Doyle is an excellent signing . £6 million i would say is the going rate for a player of this calibre who has the potential to improve but who will be more than capable of holding his own in the premier league anyway.
And all the people who think we payed over the odds – how long ago was it that we sold our very own (un proven) Robbie keane for a similar figure and Ade “panick buy for leicester” Akinbiyi to leicester for 1 million less. Both these deals were done well over 6 years ago . I admit both careers went in different directions after the transfers but this goes to show we havent paid over the odds for a young , hungry, proven striker.
great signing, he seems chuffed to be here which is a big plus. ticks all the boxes, proven at prem, young hungry and yet another international !! funny if he and S.E.B make it to south africa !! you never know !! more of the same please. I hope Stearman has been bending Mancienne’s ear, even a season’s loan with a buy out option would do. mind wouldnt object to gardener from the villa, how much did they buy Heskey for !!! one maybe two signings away for being ready. Winslow Wolf
Ditto.
This is a great day to be a Wolves Fan!! nearly ready now !!! plus having money in the kitty for later in the season will stand in good sted, you watch how many bargains will appear later on, not all the prem clubs are secure money wise and will want to trim the wage bill. still one or two more permanent signings and same loans will be done.
kevin nolan, hmmm battler, comitted, leader, sounds a bit like the Ince type of player we could do with( no disrespect Henry and Jones but we will need experience here), plus has played most of his prem footy in the lower half, could good be a good signing, Pederson maybe as well ?

Great signing , if Doyle and Blake get good service i can see a few goals being banged in.
The fact that the 6.5 million fee was met is a true sign of intent from the club and another encouraging sign is he came to us over established Premier clubs, so hopefully we can win over other players as well.
Here’s looking forward to some more signings of Doyle’s quality.
COME ON YE WOLVES

Yes Great signing, we should go for some of the good players from Newcastle and boro who want a challenge and play in the premier league.

Wow!!! Looks like Wolvesmod PC is done!!! Haven’t seen his usual comment on the top of the list.
Great signing. and with our wingers crossing balls, we will see a lot of goals from SEB and KD.

77.) I bet you right here and now that Karl henry will be in the starting line up come august 15. you missed him off your little list there.
Winslow Wolf said: ‘Steven Fletcher to Burnley for 3.3mil I’d have some of that unlike our last little scottish forward this boy knows exactly where the barn door is, IWELUMO WASN’T THAT BAD WAS HE?
ve noticed 1 or 2 shouts for lucas neill, as if wolves would ever pay the 50/60 grand a week the greedy flaming galaar demands.

Now for Mancienne, Ledley, Surman and the Liquidator and Happy Wanderer to get the Mol rockin next season! What else?

Has anyone noticed what Morgan is saying in his video talk? He said that he hopes to sign someone he has admired since a long time!!! This surely do not apply to Surman. Anyone has a clue of this mystery signing?

Nice to see a footballer who’s lookin for more than just a big pay cheque. How many footballers research the history of a club before signing nowadays…………probably very few, atleast we know he’s playing for the shirt and if he kisses the badge it will be because of a genuine love of the club. More signings like this please….genuine, down to earth players with a genuine interest in the club and not just their bank balance

What a signing!! What a statement of intent!!
The 3M’s said we would go for it and we have….
Please guys, buy another Centre Half and we’ll be ok!!
UP THE WOLVES!!!!

Nice to see all the positive comments for a change, where have all the moaners and anti mccarthey/moxey/morgan posters dissapeared to you could all atleast admit you were wrong! just 2 more centre halves needed now mancienne maybe and someone else with more experience, as well as another centre mid nolan maybe if we can afford his wages, and finally another wide player to rival kightly/jarvis looks like surman would be a good signing to accomodate this. Then we’d have more than enough to compete, UP THE WOLVES!!!!

the best thing about this signing is that he fits in perfect with the way we play. with javis and kites attacking play his game is all about getting on the end of crosses which they should supply.

Great quote from MM – “He’ll put a shift in!” PRICELESS!!!

116. I am going to guess it is Michael Owen or Didi Hamann. He is an ex-Liverpool fan after all!

Sombody made a great point yesterday of having Moses part of the deal if Crystal Palace come in for Looms.

116 – you mention “someone he has admired for a long time”. Could Newcastlefan be right – Kevin Nolan – fellow Liverpudlian and reds fan?

bring in surman
free transfers on Vassel loads of experience good pace bit of work over pre season and he would be great for us. Pennant? no newdeal for him what about him?
Hammann out of contract to mght be goo to look at.
But vassel and pennant would b great

laughingwolf, Yeah I made the point about Moses, fits the Wolves manifesto young hungry and incredibly talented. Left/right Centre midfield could push Kites and Jarvo play in behind a striker in a 5 man midfield which I’m sure we will use away from home and can play as a central striker. Looms plus 2.5 – 3 Mil I reckon would get him. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t on MM’s hitlist.

Hammann and Vas would be welcome one wolf but I reckon ASBO Pennant is more trouble than he’s worth, talent yes no doubt, but bad attitude, poor work ethic and probably will demand massive wages. Let the Bluenoses cop that bill, and get us in for Bale!

I think it’s great that Wolves are signing so many players called Kevin. Being born in the west midlands (or staffs as it was then) in the late 60′s, my parents couldn’t resist the urge to call me (or my sister) Kevin. We have lived our life in constant ridicule ever since – I blame Rik Mayall for his Kevin Turvey character as well as Kevin the Gerbil for the continued disrespect towards my name (and my mum Kevin).
We’ve had false dawns before, Kevin Ashley was going to be the one to restore pride but he ended up on a free transfer to Posh (oh the irony). Then there was Kevin Muscat – but his popularity shrunk after his sending off against Grimsby was blamed for the 2002 11 point collapse fiasco.
As if by magic, MM buys yet another full-back called Kevin. Third time lucky perhaps? But I’d seen these false full-back Kevin dawns before, as had my grandmother, Kevin, so didn’t get excited. But I felt pride that the Kevin clan was returning to prominance when Foley got the player of the season award.
Imagaine my delight when Kevin Doyle – a centre forward no less – signs. A glory position finally. And then there’s a rumour that we may be looking at Kevin Nolan. Back of the net.
Players I’d like to see us buy:
Kevin McDonald – Burnley. Young and hungry midfielder.
Kevin-Prince Boateng – Tottenham. Out of favour by the kevist regime led by Harry Redknapp (Harry for god’s sake – it’s not even a proper name)
Kevin Davies – sorry SEB. Much as I love you I’d have to say the two Kevin’s up front would be my dream pairing
Kevin Kilbane – just kidding!
So well done to the 3 M’s. Bringing the name Kevin back to respectability
