Pendulum, Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton
By Elizabeth Joyce
Torrential rain proved welcome relief for the hundreds of Pendulum fans who emerged deliriously hot after last night’s gig.
The drum-n-bass rockers turned Wolverhampton’s Wulfrun Hall into a sauna as they performed hits from their album, In Silico and new material. The gig was the perfect warm-up for the guys, who were today heading to Glastonbury.
Audience members ranged from 14-year-old lads, who were enjoying their first taste of the mosh pit, to men in their 50s who stood at the sidelines.
The group, a mix of Aussie and Brit musicians, whipped the crowd into a frenzy with Propane Nightmares, Showdown and Tarantula. Highlights included their remix of the Prodigy’s Voodoo People and a cheeky version of Calvin Harris’s number one I’m Not Alone.
