Risque Carr in gags on Jackson
Saturday 27th June 2009, 11:05AM BST.
Jimmy Carr, Wolverhampton Civic Hall
By Helen Cartwright
Quick-fire comedian Jimmy Carr returned to Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall for the fourth time in just seven months – and once more kept a packed audience laughing for hours.
The Eight Out of 10 Cats presenter is more risque on stage than TV, and anyone going to see him should leave their inhibitions at home as the ‘Joke Technician’ took the audience through everything from everyday life to his bedroom habits and even the death of superstar Michael Jackson.
Introducing each half with animations, ‘Carrtoons’ as he calls them, showcasing the best heckles from previous shows, he got the audience in the mood for what was to come and went on to show an impressive ability to think on his feet when thrown a few lines by members of the crowd who were clearly keen to be in the next ‘carrtoon’.
Carr stepped up a gear after the interval – and ended by seeing just how far he could go with the audience by making jokes about the late King of Pop.
Carr is back the Wolverhampton Civic Hall on November 27 and 28, with his new show, Rapier-Wit
