WOLVES

Three clubs, Everton, Sunderland and Villa, are reported to have agreed a £8.5m fee for Tottenham’s former Wolves target Tom Huddlestone.

Wolves have reportedly been told they will need to pay £3m for Doncaster defender Matthew Mills.

Reading striker Kevin Doyle will decide next week on a £6.5m move to Fulham, Bolton, Sunderland or Wolves.

West Ham defender Calum Davenport is said to be interesting Wolves.

Wolves are said to be stepping up their efforts to land Watford winger Tommy Smith after the Hornets confirmed they have turned down two bids.

ALBION

St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes has dampened speculation linking him with the vacancy at West Brom by saying he hopes to extend his contract in Perth.

Hull are said to be favourites to land former West Brom striker Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Mark Lawrenson insists Preston will have little chance of keeping Alan Irvine if West Bromwich Albion step up their bid to take the Deepdale boss to The Hawthorns.

Cardiff have met renewed speculation linking manager Dave Jones to a move to West Brom with a simple message: “No chance.”

VILLA

Villa are second favourites to sign Michael Owen, according to the bookies.

Sol Campbell could be persuaded to move to Villa from Portsmouth, due to the attraction of Europa League football.

Villa are poised to land Arsenal starlet Samir Carruthers, it is claimed.

WALSALL

No news for Saddlers today.

BLUES

Birmingham have reportedly failed in a bid to sign midfielder Patrick Vieira, 33, from Inter Milan.

They are also said to be tracking 24-year-old midfielder Ferne Snoyl, who is out of contract at Dutch side RKC Waalwijk.

Birmingham believe midfielder Lee Bowyer, 32, will complete a permanent move from West Ham next week.
