Bradley is urging patience
Saturday 27th June 2009, 9:38AM BST.
Walsall midfielder Mark Bradley today pleaded for patience from supporters anxious to see fresh blood arrive.
Former Nottingham Forest skipper Ian Breckin’s decision to snub the Saddlers means boss Chris Hutchings is still to delve into the transfer market this summer – leaving his squad looking decidedly thin ahead of the players’ return for pre-season training on Thursday.
Jabo Ibehre has joined MK Dons, Michael Ricketts, Stephen Hughes and Paul Boertien have been released, Stephen Roberts is unlikely to be fit for the start of the campaign and question marks remain over the future of the transfer-listed Anthony Gerrard.
But Bradley insists Hutchings must be given time to bring in the right men for the Saddlers’ League One play-off bid.
“I’m sure the gaffer has got the right players in mind who he will go for,” said Bradley.
“We just need a few more players to come in and should be OK. It’s still June and there’s time.
“I counted who we have the other day and when you look at some of the young lads coming through there’s more than you’d think. It’s about getting quality in.”
