Friday 26th June 2009, 10:02AM BST.

donny2Villa’s Steve Sidwell has emerged as a potential target for Fulham who are keen to bring the midfielder back to London.

Reports have claimed Cottagers chief Roy Hodgson is keen to bring the £5million-rated playmaker to Craven Cottage to boost their Europa League challenge.

But any bid for the former Chelsea player is likely to be met with short shrift by Villa, with Gareth Barry having already departed for Manchester City.

The claret and blues have also confirmed they will face Italian giants Fiorentina in their final friendly of pre-season at Villa Park on August 8.
