A man and a woman have been charged with the murder of a three-year-old Wolverhampton boy on Christmas Eve.

Chris Taylor, aged 23, and Kayley Boleyn, 18, were appearing before Birmingham Crown Court today.

The pair had previously been accused of causing or allowing the death of Ryan Lovell-Hancox, who died two days after being taken to hospital from a flat in Slim Avenue, Bradley.

Today, the Crown Prosecution Service said that both were now charged with murder, along with causing or allowing the death of a child and cruelty to a person under 16.

At an inquest, opened at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court, the boy’s parents were named as housewife Amy Hancox, aged 20, and unemployed John Lovell, 23.
