Fowler’s first game against Wolves
Friday 26th June 2009, 10:20AM BST.
Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler is set to make his Australian debut against Wolves.
The former England international, who has joined North Queensland Fury, will not be playing for his new side against Sydney at Shark Park because of injury.
But will be fit for the game against Mick McCarthy’s Championship champions on July 15 – the final game of their tour.
Fury coach Ian Ferguson said: “He has a problem with his abductor, but he is progressing well with his rehab.
“After Sydney we’ve got a game against Adelaide in Darwin, but I’m hoping Robbie will come to Perth with us when we play against Perth and Wolves.
“I’m sure he’ll be ready to go when we play Sydney in our opening match of the A-League on August 8 in Townsville.”
