The fight for No 1 spot on for Blues

Wednesday 24th June 2009, 10:49AM BST.

maik-taylor.jpegMaik Taylor has vowed to fight for his first-team place at Birmingham after the arrival of Joe Hart on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The England under-21 international has now formally completed his temporary move to St Andrew’s, his club have confirmed.

But his 37-year-old rival for the Blues jersey has warned he won’t be displaced without a fight.

Taylor said: “Joe Hart’s name has been linked with Birmingham for a while and I have not had a problem with that.

“I will work hard when pre-season gets under way and am more than happy to fight for my place.”
