Double-pronged attack on Wolves

Wednesday 24th June 2009, 7:58AM BST.

speedway62.jpgWolves have twin opponents when they next take to the track – Lakeside and the Royal Navy!

The Hammers have clinched a one-off sponsorship with the senior service for the match.

Lakeside will wear a specially commissioned race jacket for the match and one whole bend of their circuit will carry Royal Navy branding.

The team are unbeaten on their own shale so far this season and their last home match saw a 60-33 demolition of Peterborough, who next host Wolves.

But the Parrys International Wolves traditionally go well at the pocket track and secured a league point there in May by running the Hammers to within five points.

Team boss Peter Adams is looking for something from both trips.

He said: “The way the team’s going we have the capability of doing something everywhere we go.

“We’ve got to go with a positive attitude with a view to taking at least a point from each of the two meetings. We’re well capable of that.”

Wolves give a debut to new number eight Jesper Kristiansen, who has replaced the injured Joe Haines as club number eight.

Danish rider Kristiansen covers in this rearranged match for Czech Hynek Stichauer, who has a prior commitment in his domestic league.

Lakeside: 1 Lee Richardson, 2 Kauko Nieminen, 3 Adam Shields, 4 Jonas Davidsson, 5 Joonas Kylmakorpi, 6 Phil Morris, 7 Stuart Robson.

Wolves: 1 Fredrik Lindgren, 2 Nicolai Klindt, 3 Tai Woffinden, 4 Adam Skornicki, 5 Peter Karlsson, 6 Jesper Kristiansen, 7 Ty Proctor.
