Kidderminster chairman Barry Norgrove reckons that some of the 10 players let go this summer would have left whatever the financial situation of the club.

The Harriers exit door has hit double figures since the end of the season but not all have been snapped up and could even be back at Aggborough next season.

Indeed, midfielder Chris McPhee – with League Two Cheltenham also showing an interest – is one who has definitely been made an offer by manager Mark Yates.

But one option now gone is goalkeeper Adam Bartlett, who has joined Keith Lowe in the Football League at Hereford.

Justin Richards, Luke Jones and Craig Armstrong have also found clubs – while skipper Mark Creighton and Andy Ferrell left in straight moves.

Michael Carr and Martin Brittain remain unattached.

Norgrove believes that some of the ‘big 10′ would have been deemed ‘surplus to requirements’ anyway.

He said: “A lot of players left us after last season but let’s get one thing straight – there are always some players that you aren’t going to want to keep on a the end of a year. I think that fact got a bit lost.

“We’ve said that there are a few names we would like to see back, but some of those who left us did so because we had an eye on improving and building.”
