Market opinions wanted

Controversial plans for a weekly market in Bewdley are to come under the spotlight and townsfolk are being asked for their views.

Markets have been held on land behind the George Hotel and at Dog Lane. Now there are proposals for one to be relocated to Severn Side South in the town.

However, last year a trial market held on the site attracted complaints of noise and nuisance from local residents.

Some claimed the generators needed to power the market were too noisy and stallholders struggled to get passing trade.

Now people in the town are being asked for their views on relocating the market to Severn Side South.

They have until the end of the month to put their views forward for members of Wyre Forest District Council to consider.
