Wolves face major tests of their speedway play-off credentials this week with three matches in four days.

They host the Elite League’s defending champions Poole at Monmore tonight and will be wary of any slips against a reshuffled side, before travelling to face Lakeside and Peterborough.

Wolves have taken the maximum three points from all nine home league matches so far.

But Poole, now bolstered by the presence of Grand Prix rider Hans Andersen, have the top-end strength to pose a threat.

However, the Pirates will be without collar bone injury victim Chris Holder, who crashed out of the home draw against Lakeside last week.

Run rider-replacement. Daniel Davidsson, another casualty from the same match, is expected to ride.

On Wednesday, Wolves are at fourth-placed Lakeside, where a battling performance earlier in the season earned them a point.

In contrast to the Hammers’ compact circuit, Wolves tackle third-placed Peterborough on the big Alwalton bowl the following evening – rarely a happy hunting ground.
