Teenage rider is injured on bike

A teenage motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after being injured in an accident near Kidderminster.

The rider, believed to be 15 years old, suffered a suspected fractured leg and a serious pelvic injury at Hungary Hill, Cleobury Mortimer ,at around 12.30pm yesterday.

West Midlands Ambulance service sent a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance, from Strensham, near Worcester, to the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews found a teenager who is believed to have fallen from a motorcycle. The boy, believed to be 15, was treated for a suspected fractured leg and a serious pelvic injury. He was stabilised at the scene and airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”

A moto-cross rider was also injured at a track close to Junction 6 of the M5 at Worcester yesterday.

The rider, believed to be in his late 20s, was treated by paramedics at the scene for back injuries and airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.
