Wolves hot-shot Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has agreed a new four-year contract to keep him at Molineux until 2013.
The Championship double Golden Boot winner, who has scored 37 goals in 61 League games for Wolves, has been rewarded for his exploits with the new deal, which replaces the four-year agreement he signed on joining the club in January 2008.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “This is a reward to Sylvan for his outstanding goalscoring for the last two years.
“To win the Golden Boot two years running is a superb achievement and we want him to feel absolutely maginificent going into the Premier League, where hopefully he can do exceptionally well.
“We realise it’s a big step-up, but he’s really happy about being here and he sees his long-term future here too and we feel we have to act accordingly.
“He has been magnificent for us and he epitomises the determination and focus of the players here.
“He has also given great value for money and he’s been literally magnificent in every aspect.
“As soon as we said we were interested in him, he wanted to come and he loves it here – he loves the fans, he loves scoring goals, he loves playing at Molineux and his team-mates and the manager think he’s fantastic.”
Ebanks-Blake, who will sign his new contract next week, follows Karl Henry and Kevin Foley in signing new long-term contracts this summer, while Michael Kightly, Neill Collins, Andy Keogh, Carl Ikeme, Matt Jarvis and George Elokobi have also penned similar deals in the last 12 months.
The new contract should put an end to the speculation surrounding the sought-after striker, who has long been linked with a move to Everton.
Ebanks-Blake has been a huge hit at Molineux since his £1.5m move from Plymouth.
* Wolves have been linked with a move for long-serving Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo, 31, who has scored 100-plus goals for the La Liga club.

How about signing some new players instead, Jez?

At last, some goood news for once!! :)
Fantastic, im over the moon with this, the guy has been fantastic. I really can’t wait to we see him in the prem! :D

No 1.
How about getting lost and keeping any negativity away from these pages. This is fantastic news as it means we have secured the services of one of our goalscoring rising stars.
The thing is Wolvesmod, if we shelled out 10 million on one player, and he flopped, you would be the first person to make sure you gave your negative, 3M bashing opinion on here. If you think you can do better, go get yourself a job in either of the 3M’s positions and lets see you walk the walk, no just talk the talk, instead of sitting at home on your sofa all day waiting for the chance to jump down their throats.

We’ll see how much he loves the club if we go down next season won’t we. That will be the acid test, i just hope the club are prepared to pay any incoming players more than £15k a week because premiership quality players don’t come cheap. So far, we’ve signed a relatively unknown foreigner and Hahnemann. I know its early days but i’m starting to get concerned.
Yeah get some new players in, how dare you secure the futures of players we’ve already got?
Hang on, we’ve already made 2 signings and the transfer window isn’t even officially open. What a tit I must sound!
NO.3 GOT IT IN 1 KID!!
NO.1 TRANSFER WINDOW ISNT TECHNICALLY OPEN YET SO CHILL OUT – WOLVES HAVE BEEN VERY ESTUTE IN WINDOW LAST 18 MONTHS ….HENSE CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMPIONS SO LETS WAIT TILL AUGUST N IF WE NOT STRONG ENOUGH THENS THE TIME TO YOUR SAY……ALTHOUGH IM SURE MICK WILL GET THE PLAYERS IN… YOU DONT NEED TO SPEND MILLIONS TO BE COMPETITIVE!!!
PERSONALLY CANT WAIT TO SEE EBANKS NEXT YEAR…..NATURAL BORN SCORER AND WILL BAG GOALS WOTEVER LEVELS HE PLAYS..GOTTA BE GOIN FOR DOUBLE FIGURES NEXT YEAR!!!!

No 1 Are you serious or just a Tesco supporter in disguise?
Comments like that are what kept us in the Championship for too long by demoralising our management team & forcing out our good managers before they could have an effect on the team they manage.
Are you seriously saying we should not have signed SEB?
Go & support another team.
Keep the faith & reward those that deliver results!
Nice one SEB, you will do just fine in the promised land. As for further signings, if all you negitive comment people if think you will make a damm bit of differnce to the speed we sign and the amount we spend on a player to the 3Ms then your barking up the wrong tree. When will you relize that there is some very good undervalued talent out there, and the trick is finding it. IE kites. It is not always the case that you have to spen 10 mill plus and stupid wages to get quality.

There are two ways of looking at Wolves total inactivity in the transfer market.Firstly just to clear up the transfer of Milijas, the chances are that this wont go through due to his non qualification.Moxey says that it will on appeal, I hope that is correct but laws are there for a reason and Moxey has no say in them.
So no real signings as yet, this has to be because
1, We wont pay up.
2They dont want to come here for whatever reason.
OR the other way of looking at it is that Wolves are saving the cash for a certain player or players.
Now the TOP players that we really need fall into two sections those that will come if the money is right OR those who love the Wolves and REALLY WANT to play for us.Which brings me to my prediction that ROBBIE KEEN will be at Wolves next season.

Being such a football expert, you should know that tying up your best players to long term contracts is as important, if not more than bringing in new faces.
Just ask the Baggies who last year failed to replace their best goalscorer ( Phillips) and their talented midfirlder AND goalscorer, Gera.
At least it looks as if we only have to ADD to our talent and not RELACE it.
Best news of the day. He is pure class and WILL score goals in the Premiership.
PS: “follows Karl Henry and Kevin Foley in signing new long-term contracts this summer, while Michael Kightly, Neill Collins, Andy Keogh, Carl Ikeme, Matt Jarvis and George Elokobi have also penned similar deals in the last 12 months.”
Now whats wrong with this? Kightly, COLLINS, Keogh, Ikeme, Jarvo and Elokobi.
Why on earth did we give this disaster of a defender a 4-year contract??? What are the chances of him playing in the Premiership? Hopefull NONE!
1,
How’s about shutting up?????
How would you feel if we didn’t look after him & he decided to run his contract down & leave for nothing.
Then you have something to whing about, but, up until that happens button it!!!!!!

I wish you were right, it would be great to sing
“He,s coming home, He,s coming home, Keane,s coming hom.”
OK, this is good news yes I’m sure all wolves fans agree. However I am getting a little worried about our signings that are gonna keep us up. Hahnnemaan (however you spell it) is so far the only signing that will be part of the set up next season, Milijas won’t feature, his suspended prison sentence and the fact he has not played enough games for his country to qualify for a work permit will see to that. I hope I’m wrong but we need to be looking to the prem clubs who have successfully bypassed the rule and use the same lawyers to acheive his work permit. He is a quality player but what competition did we have for his signature? Did others do their homework on him? In a years time he would qualify and that is probably the reason other prem clubs didn’t bother. There is no secret players out there that we could steal a march on, it don’t work like that. Its a case of wanting someone and then approaching the club for permission to speak, unsettle be brutal and get your player. Its a harsh league and if we keep pussyfooting around in the transfer market we aint gonna get anyone who will help us stay up. Spend the damn money and at least have a go

Happy to see the chap stick his monica on a longer deal.
When we signed him I wrote that having had more opportunity than most Wolves fans to see him play I was confident that he would score goals in any league. After the last two seasons I am more sure than ever this is the case.
Go slay ‘em in the greed league Sylvan.
Up The Wolves

WolvesMod is normally the first to post on anything and it is always negative there is no way this crap hat is a Wolves fan.
So it doesn’t really matter what he thinks as he will be watching the bags down the road playing second tier footy.
Good to see the big fellah signing for another four years and getting the Everton issue out of the way.
Well done SEB well deserved, your a natural born goal scorer and hit the back of the net for fun and dont forget SEB there,s a world cup on next year keep scoring and you never know…

Work permit rhymes with Kermit which is quite apt because…
If Milli Vanilli doesn’t get his work permit then Jez will look like a right muppet.
I can’t imagine Wolves not knowing about this DD offence. I think they would have announced along the lines of “We will be signing him subject to clearance….etc” rather than sticking the geezer in a Wolves Shirt and giving it the large one.
He’ll be playing for us.

to all true wolves fans ,wolves will reveal on monday morning our 3rd new signing ,it will be kevin doyle from reading ,he was at the wolves training ground on friday lunch time having medical and talking terms ,this is 100% def as i have inside contact at the training ground ,so now with 2 of the best strikers from the championship on board will will score goals ,shame we couldnt beat burnley to jason scotland i rate him above kevin and would have been a snip at £2 million.all we needknow is a good centre half to back up berra

1 Wolvesmod says sign some new players ‘instead’.
I think he must have meant ‘as well’ The players we have all deserve a chance as they got us promoted as the top goalscorers, largely due to an excellent supply line and SEB’s goalscoring.
Yes, we need to see more signings but the first two are a good start.
If the permit is in doubt due to the accident then I suggest that the government need to look at all th epeole they are letting in through our borders that we have no sight of any convictions.
Great deal fo rth club and if we should fail and then give the guy a break, if you were in a job and got offered a better deal elsewhere I doubt any of us would stay.
I look forward to seeing the guys take on the mighty.

Great news to sign him up to a longer deal.
As for wolvesmod we should petition E&S to ban him from the forums for being such a negative idiot

No1:
Just echoing the sentiments of several posters on here, are you Tesco in disguise?
Forget football & take up fishing instead,it’s less stressful.
And before you say how can I support Wolves living in Kent? I’m originally from Tipton, home of Steve Bull, who by the way only cost Wolves £64k.
You DON’T have to spend BIG money to get good players. How much did Kites cost?
Spend Spend Spend…..remember Leeds?

Wolves in Spain has it right – the two acquisitions are sensible and still leave plenty of money available for some experienced players. And the Club would be smart to tie up a couple of long term loan deals- perhaps Robbie Keane who I would love to see back.
Do we really want to buy wasters, like the ones that played at Newcastle, or solid dependable types that will give the Club the best chance to finish above the 17th position?
No 9 DREAM ON – Robbie Keane will come to the Mol wearing a Spurs shirt next season/ or any team that will pay him the same/ better than he is getting right now
As for Milijas – I said this already regarding the work permit – and I agree that the law is beyond Moxey – BUT what background checks did he do? You know when you apply for a job there is a question (with reputable companies) that ask if you have a criminal record – Do you remember the player that Wolves wouldnt sign that had a “drugs past”
Moxey will aim for “soft targets” as I said many times before – Why because he cannot/ hasnt the abillity to persuade better than average Prem Proven Players
What happened to all the BS about “paying the going rate”?
So Hanneman is our ONLY player so far – Is he any better than what we have?
Martinez went to Wigan and signs Gomez – Yes he was his manager BUT how long did it take Wigan to act and get their man???
Imv Wolves will go in for “young and hungry” aka “Cheap and Cheerfull” – OK for the Chumpionship BUT not enough for Prem survival
Bring on the Prem Proven Players – I wont hold my breath (Cmon lets hear all the BS from fans that think Robbie Keane will be coming LOL)

Good comment Mark B. our country will let anyone through and stay, so why object to a guy who has a job to come to?? i think this guy could be awesome in the Premier League next year after watching him on youtube – just what we need.

I would like to make a disclaimer. I don’t think Wolvesmod is anything to do with us. He has appeared on the Albion site in the past making disparaging comments but he always seems to be the first to post on any Wolves stories (does he have a job?) He may not be a Wolves fan but please don’t try to fob him off on us.

If Tom Fuddletone is worth 8 million Blakey from On The Buses is worth at least 15million. Number one, his scoring record is amongst the best in the country, secondly, he was a very good conductor.

No new players no new players.
Jez is sat in his office working his way through a value family pack of Walkers, Mick is sitting in his office reading a Nora Batty book, and Morgan is rolling around the floor throwing fifty pound notes in the air and giggling like a small child.
Why don’t they do some work and sign some players.

Great news.. we’ll be na na na na ing at least 12 times next season is my guess!
As for WolvesMod.. I find his posts quite funny, he does find the negative in eveything and if you take his comments seriously, then you’re a bigger fool than him!

Great news on Eban. Fantastic player and he will be a great asset in the Premiership I’m sure. We now need to sign at least 6 other ‘new’ players.
Roll on next season. ;-)

No. 20, I hope you’re right. I think Kevin Doyle might do a job for us in the premier league and he’d fit in well with the players we already have. He’s practically best mates with Keogh and Ward. I agree that missing out on Jason Scotland is a bit pants but as he’s gone to Burnley, fairplay to them. I know everyone is tipping them to get hammered and go straight back down but I hope they do well as long as it’s not at our expense.

this is brilliant news. with how football is now, ie MONEY…if he is a hit in the prem, and if we did (unthinkable lol) go down next year, we would get a MINT for him as he’ll be under contract!

The woman that told me about the Milijas deal and Sylvans new contract said the club are in on going talks regarding the following: dont have a pop this is what she has told me and hasnt been wrong so far we have also put in an offer for somebody for 2 players from pompey one is the defender who used to play for spurs and the other a lad who is currently with england under 21′s:
Kevin Nolan
