Wolves boss names his big four
Friday 19th June 2009, 7:50AM BST.
Wolves team boss Peter Adams has named the four speedway sides he expects to contest the Elite League play-offs.
Not surprisingly the Monmore men and Swindon, who have spent most of this season swapping places at the top of the league, are among them.
Adams – following detailed analysis of the remaining fixtures – expects those two teams to be joined by Peterborough and Coventry, with Lakeside their nearest challengers.
That would mean defending champions Poole, who are at the bottom of the table but have reshuffled heavily, missing out.
The manager sees Wolves, who entertain Poole at Monmore Green on Monday, occupying the runners-up spot.
He said: “I still think we can afford to drop four points at home, providing we continue to pick up points on our travels.
“Poole have got a bit of a job on. They’ve got the team to do it. But I think it will be a bit much for them.”
