Wolves correspondent Tim Nash talks to Craig Birch about new midfielder Nenad Milijas and the impending wave of signings to come at Molineux.

Speaking earlier in the week before the signing of keeper Marcus Hahnemann, Tim gives his analysis of the acquisition.

Do you think the Serbian international can cut it in the Premier League?

Think wolves should go for Marcus Berg, looks an awesom striker and apparently could be aquired for around 7.5 – 8 mil which when you concider that W.b.a paid 6.5 on Bednar and Moore and blues have got this Benitez that no one knows anything about for 9mil. I think it would be a great signing!

Unsure on what is going on at the moment with Wolves, Blues seem to be hogging the limelight when it comes to the promoted teams splashing the cash and being linked with all and sundry.

Okay so it’s not Moxey of McCarthy’s style to do business in public but we all know as it stands, if the season kicked off tomorrow we’d be relegated. We need at LEAST 4 new quality signings, we need to see evidence of that Premier League experience McCarthy keeps banging on about. Don’t know much about the Serbian but Hanneman seems reliable enough if a little on the aged side.

As much as I don’t want to get on anyone’s back we’ve been promoted for the best part of 6 weeks now and only have 2 signings to show for it – one of which was on a free & neither of which are centre-halves which is where we need to plug the hole the most.

It will take a few more players for me to be convinced we have anything other than just a slim chance of avoiding Derby’s minimal points tally………….

Pace, scores goals, expert from set pieces, one of the best passers of the ball in european football (apparently) and most importantly is very very physical sounds like complete midfielder. Hahnemann was superb for Reading over the years and gives us the ‘brad friedel factor’. Marcus Berg could be a good signing but young british players are micks preference my suggestion would be utilising the loan market too:

    Joe Ledley
    Tom Huddlestone
    Matt Derbyshire
    Lee Cattermole
    Shaun Davies
    Aaron Ramsay (loan)
Michael Mancienne (loan of not permanent)

Keep reading that the club have had a 7.5mil offer for the double capture of Reading pair Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt. Also Joe Ledley is talking over personal terms.

Bassong from Newcastle is in talks with us and Hull. Wolves have bid 4mil for Wigan player Paul Scharner.

I have heard it on good authority that Michael Owen has been seen leaving Molineux, he has had a medical and is now talking terms.

Why are people worrying so much about new signings, footballers are on holiday now and also contracts dont finish until June 30. The only player Stoke signed before July last year was Olofinjana, and that was a panic buy that went wrong. Why dont people relax, we will sign who we sign and we will sign more in January no doubt.

No. 3 have you ever seen Ramsey play? Why do we need another winger. Too much Championship Manager, get a hobby
