WOLVES
Wolves will apparently pay £1.2 million for midfielder Andrew Surman, 23, after Southampton snubbed a £1m bid from Sheffield United.
ALBION
Agent Raymond Sparkes reckons West Brom supremo Jeremy Peace and Celtic chief Peter Lawwell have got involved in a staring contest over Tony Mowbray’s future.
Gold Coast youngster Matt Pike is confident of winning a pro deal with West Brom.
VILLA
The Sun claims Spurs will make a move for winger Ashley Young, offering David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas to land the PFA Young Player of the Year.
Tottenham are also said to be eyeing Aston Villa striker John Carew.
Hull City are “going for” Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood.
Middlesbrough are said to be in no mood to sell defender David Wheater to Villa or anyone else unless they are made an offer they cannot refuse.
WALSALL
All quiet at the Banks’s Stadium.
BLUES
After beating Wolves to Scott Dann, Blues are said to be ready to tap French first division side Le Mans for their star defender Gregory Cerdan.
