Fan reaction to Mowbray’s Celtic deal
Saturday 13th June 2009, 2:50PM BST.
Pete ‘Hilltop Baggie’ Danckert reacts to the news about Albion agreeing a deal for Tony Mowbray to join Celtic:
“I feel more disappointed over the departure of Tony Mowbray than anybody else.
“Personally, the reasons for that are because we genuinely don’t want to lose him and we bought into his vision of the way that football should be played.
“We felt we were in safe hands.
“We thought it would develop into something quite exciting.
“With all his decisions, we could see the thinking behind it.
“There will be genuine disappointment. The only thing I can compare it to is the disappointment we felt when Ron Atkinson left.
“We are going to be a very attractive club for a new manager because of the financial state we are in.
“I really haven’t taken a lot of interest in which managerial candidates are available.
“Steve Coppell is available but we may opt for Derek McInnes.
“He is a young and improving manager who will be keen to do well and will want to keep the chairman happy.”
