We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest gossip.

We are not saying they’re true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are tussling with Blues over Coventry defender and former Walsall star Scott Dann, with Birmingham looking the most likely destination, it is claimed.

But then the Daily Mail say: “Wolves are set to beat Birmingham City in the race to sign Coventry City central defender Scott Dann for £4million.”

The Mail adds: “Wolves are also interested in Southampton’s former England Under 21 midfielder Andrew Surman, 22.”

Wolves face a fight with Blackburn to sign Newcastle midfielder Nicky Butt, apparently.

Wolves “expect to sign Nenad Milijas within hours”, it is claimed.

Ronald Zubar’s agent insists his client has not agreed to join Wolves.

ALBION
West Brom are set to wrap up deals for loan duo Youssouf Mulumbu and Juan Carlos Menseguez, despite the uncertainty over Tony Mowbray.

VILLA

Spurs and occasional England midfielder Jermaine Jenas is a £6million target for Aston Villa.

Hull could come in for Villa forward and former Wolves loanee Marlon Harewood.

Everton have reportedly joined the battle for Sheffield United fullback and alleged Villa target Kyle Naughton.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks’s Stadium, although there is talk of Walsall benefitting from any deal for Scott Dann via contract clauses.

BLUES

Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune, a favourite of Roy Keane’s when they were Old Trafford teammates, will have trials by Birmingham City.

Manchester City will reportedly let keeper Joe Hart join Birmingham on loan for the season.

Fulham and Blues will battle for Reading’s Stephen Hunt, apparently.
